Is anyone bidding on any of the unicorns or pegasus’ that are ending on ebay today that only show the store picture? I remeber a while back there was mention of a seller who never sent the pieces they supposively had and this seemed sort of like the same situation to me since the person doesn’t have any feedback or any real pictures of the pieces. Did anyone else find this weird/similar? Or is it just me?

The general rule of thumb is…when in doubt…don’t bid on it.

Or contact the person and try and get a feel for them, usualy the simple question of asking them how they plan on packing them, depending on their answer will give you a LOT of info. Like if they don’t respond at all, or they say I’ll pack them safe, or if they give you a detailed description. etc.
October 7, 2009 at 6:19 pm #785794I wasn’t planning on bidding on any of the items. I was just reminded of an old topic and this seller seemed to match the description pretty well. Not trying to be mean if anyone is/knows that seller. I just always think its weird when people dont put up pictures of the actual item and the fact that the seller didn’t have much feedback. I might have asked them a question but I didn’t think about it until three hours until the auction was ending. I didn’t think they would respond in time.
October 7, 2009 at 7:01 pm #785795That same seller also listed a white pegasus family (each piece separately) as limited signed editions with certificates. Only the black pegasus family was signed and came with certificates. I’ve bookmarked the auctions to keep an eye on the feedback the seller receives.
October 8, 2009 at 10:15 am #785796I did contact the seller about packing. I received a prompt reply and was told because these are fragile items, they would be double boxed with peanuts in the larger box.
November 5, 2009 at 7:02 am #785797I was watching the White hoofer auctions from this seller too. I asked her why she said they’d come with COAs when only the Black Pegasi did. She did a lot of word play in her responses. From what I could understand, even though I tried to help and explain differently, she seems to think the hang tags are COAs- again, from the way I understand her responses. I saved her auctions for these because I wanted to see the feedback she’d receive from the winner. She just got feedback now and got slammed… but not about the COAs! Not enough room I suppose but it would help if the winner ever got any of her pieces! FB says she bought all 3 white Pegs and the seller took her money and ran. What a pity. I really hope it was no one here; bad enough it had to happen to anyone.

November 5, 2009 at 3:02 pm #785798I was afraid that was going to happen. Those auctions looked very suspicious to me, I hope no one here got taken by that seller. I hope the buyer can get some of their money back through paypal, its very sad that someone would abuse the system and take advantage of people like that 🙁
November 5, 2009 at 8:03 pm #785799I’m curious to see what the feedback for the other pieces will be. I have the feedback link saved as well.
November 6, 2009 at 11:56 pm #785800It’s good that we post our suspicions because there are some of us, like pegasus, who save and check on these sellers. I don’t bid on anything that seems even remotely suspicious but if there is a bad apple out there ripping people off–we need to find out who they are! 😡
November 7, 2009 at 12:02 am #785801We also have to be careful though. Don’t want to falsely accuse someone you know? I saved the links mostly because I was personally curious what sort of feedback they would get.
I did the same thing with someone selling an armadillo back in July. They didn’t post a picture so we couldn’t tell if it was an old one or one of the new 2009 editions. With that case though, the buyer never left feedback so I still don’t know which one it truly was.
November 13, 2009 at 1:56 pm #785802Argh! Another victim! And this time to the tune of $200! Negative feedback says seller took the payment and gave buyer no responses and never sent the item! I hate seeing this happen to people! I sincerely hope the people who got robbed here, will have justice. I’m willing to bet this seller never had the items in auction- all her photos were stock photos from Astral Castle (she said she had permission but they were not mentioned in the auction and no link provided) and from here. This seller is all kinds of wrong.
Up side- I don’t think we are going to be seeing her around ebay anymore. I think this was a one time snatch and grab, given that her score is in the single digits. I hope if anyone who was robbed is a member here, will update us on any action taken to get their money back and the proper person punished.

No permission from us. Could you PM me a link to those auctions? I missed them. Thanks.
November 13, 2009 at 10:29 pm #785804Dave- I just sent you a PM with the info you wanted, including the part of the email to us where she said she had permission from you guys to use your artwork/photos.
As I said to you, I’m saying here- it’s interesting to note she says the white pegasus are signed LP only available from Windstone… well then what was she doing at Astral Castle?!
Maybe, just maybe (doubt it), she is overly confused about PayPal holds. I doubt it simply because she talked in such circles and double speak when we contacted her. Plus, her auctions hold such out right lies in them. I even thought to give her benefit of doubt when I thought she might believe hang tags were COAs. But we explained that COAs are full pieces of paper (many times a seller will show them in auction as well) and not the hang tags. She would respond, “like you said, they [all] come with their hang tags and are signed.” We’d been discussing the regular run of white pegs and we’d explained to her about the black pegs only fitting the description she had offered. We need a “whoosh” over the head kind of emoticon expressing extreme density!
