I had a runt one time that growled and hissed when he ate (I got him at 5 weeks also), but he was lovable otherwise. Thank goodness you happened along for him Ski! That is one lucky kitten! π And cute as a button to boot!
November 7, 2007 at 9:59 pm #634575Is he actually stepping in his food??
Are you going to keep him??
I’m so confused on that part.
I bet he is making all the noises while eating because food was too few and far between when he was on his own so he is just telling all around to back off because this chow is hisNovember 7, 2007 at 10:01 pm #634576My kitties used to stand in their food while they ate to make sure no one could take it from them when they were babies. Of course that was 8 years ago now.. π
November 7, 2007 at 10:05 pm #634577We found Domino in our backyard. He was a young adult and starving. When he would eat food, he would “talk” the whole time. It was pathetic and adorable at the same time.
November 7, 2007 at 10:06 pm #634578kindof a rawr-rawr-rawr talk? π
November 7, 2007 at 10:21 pm #634579Yeah and yung, yung, yung. He’d mix it up some. π
November 7, 2007 at 10:21 pm #634580I’ve had kittens that would stand in the food and not only growl and hiss but PUSH the other kittens away! π
November 8, 2007 at 12:39 am #634581I can’t believe I missed this one. Wow, the kitten looks so much better. I would think it was just cold and starving. If you didn’t do what you did than he would have died.
Probably the vet will find nothing wrong with him. But, you never know. He’s so cute.
November 8, 2007 at 12:40 am #634582He’s is really, really cute. So glad you saved him!!
November 8, 2007 at 1:46 am #634583at times I wish cats could stay in kitten stage forever

π They are cute as kittens don’t get me wrong. But, I personally like cats after a few years. My cats were good kittens, awful from about 11 months to two years old. Now they are just good boys most of the time.

I can NOT tell you how many HORROR stories I have heard from friends about how BAD their cats are and how much they have destroyed, spraying, claws etc. I have NEVER had that trouble with mine. The only issue I do not like is that the 3 older ones seem to gang up on the young one. I hear her hiss and KNOW something is up. But when they are all real old she will be able to get even!! I have actaully closed the door and locked the 3 older ones out to just spend time wth her. I told them all that they could keep their claws as long as he only thing they destroy in the house is their scratching post and they must have listenedNovember 8, 2007 at 3:54 am #634586skigod377 wrote:Thank you guys! π He is all better. I gave him a bath, too, cuz he had pooped himself during one of his cunvulsions the first day. Feeding a feral kitten is funny. They growl, claw, and hiss while they eat. Its like a vicious cotton ball. π Funny to watch, though.
I’m glad he’s all better. I love how he stands in the food. π Are you sure he’s not a she? It does look like there is some calico there.
November 8, 2007 at 11:03 am #634587More pictures, please. I just love kittens. π
November 8, 2007 at 12:08 pm #634588π I will take more pics. I have been really busy lately. DM, I am not keeping him/her, though I do wish I could. I am on assignment for Hawaii, and she would have to pass a FAVN test before she went, otherwise, she would have to spend 3 months in quarentine. I would never do that to an animal, plus, its expensive, and she is too young to pass the test.
Emerald, my mom thinks she is a girl, too, and may be calico.
I can handle her just fine. She only hisses once and then cuddles up with me. π
