WOW, it’s HUGE! *makes grabby hands*
I dream of finding the print with the Wizard and the Griffin too…Yes, Melody, any comments or thoughts on your old prints? πRight! That is a dragon on all fours. I had forgotten about that one.
We still have a few of those old print designs for sale on our website, but we have sold out of the big dragons and the wizards.
We published that line of prints between 1979-1982 and sold oodles of them through consignment craft store chains up and down the west coast. http://www.windstoneeditions.com/artprintspg.htmOctober 31, 2007 at 9:29 pm #630240I got 2 of them at the Galena Teddy Bear Co. a few years back. They are the larger ones. I think 17×24’s? One’s of a little girl laying with a unicorn, it is in color and the other is an unicorn by a tree sorta prancing, with the butterflies?

November 1, 2007 at 1:36 pm #630242It’s a beautiful print, I’d want one too! π π π

He still had those? Wow, that is old inventory! Those old prints are becoming collectible, since they are no longer are being printed.

I’ll put a drawing in my gallery when I find one, and get the @#$! scanner to work…
I usually have the rear end about the same height as the front, because the hind legs aren’t stretched out fully. I figure dragons would need allot of bend in them to be able to launch themselves into the air. They can’t take off by just flapping with wings that small. That’s why my dragons have such muscular hind legs.
I would like to do a standing dragon. The underside isn’t hard to sculpt, but it would need a seam line to part the mold. The belly would need some careful touching up after the piece is cast. The Oriental dragons are hard to cast because they are one piece molds without seam lines!Oh I hear you on the scanner… they can be a pain too. Mine … it takes pushing the button a few times before it desides to scan.
I have an idea for a sculpture but I am pretty sure you’d laugh at the idea… I don’t know what dragon would be best for it but… its a dragon getting ready to playfully pounce… tush in the air… all crouched down like a cat… I need to draw it… I have the idea in my head and now I need to get it on paper! π
I’ll be looking forward to your drawing of the dragon!!! π
Thanks!!! π
sounds like the crouching fledgling dragon we have talked about a few timesNovember 3, 2007 at 11:21 pm #630248Nambroth wrote:Kujacker wrote:DantheDragon wrote:In my husband’s parent’s house I noticed there was a print of yours on the wall in the office! It looks like an older pencil drawing of a dragon standing on all fours, though I think one leg is up. You should have seen me O.O! when I first noticed it XD Alas I won’t be back there again until Saturday so I can’t take a picture of it.
Is wasn’t this one, was it?
In the back of my closet… lol.
Aha! That is the one piece I want a print of.
I’d LOVE this one tooNovember 3, 2007 at 11:23 pm #630249Serenity wrote:Thank you for posting your dragon on all fours in the gallery! π Its AWESOME! π

At the top of the page are several links. They look like this:
Windstone Home :: Forum :: Gallery
Click Gallery, then click the link that says Windstone Staff Gallery. Once you are there click Melody Pena and you can see everything in Melody’s gallery.

If you can find my gallery, you still may not see the page you want. You may need to click through the numbers at the bottom of the page to find the right page, or just click on the words “last uploads” at the top of the page to see the most recent stuff. The images in the galleries will be shown in different order ( oldest first, or most recent first), depending how you have it set to display them.
January 7, 2008 at 10:15 pm #630253I have another question that could have been asked but I’ll ask again…
Are your dragon’s “Life Size” in their sculptures OR are they bigger in “real life”? π
