π‘ I let my mother use my eBay account; she is unsure on the computer (so I have to sell her stuff for her anyhow) and that way she has my feedback. Well, she just bid $45 with shipping for a broken baby unicorn that can be found new in a local shop for $35. MOOoooOOM! “but I wanted one!” so why not buy one from the mall undamaged for less? I mean she has money in my Paypal account, so it’s not out of my pocket, but the idea of it… π³
and nope, I’m not replacing it for her if she’s going to be silly!

February 22, 2007 at 9:02 pm #542600LOL, that is really funny. Of course, I feel really bad too π I’m sure she didn’t know it was in stores?
My own mother recently made a silly, yet expensive, purchase over the web. I need to take her computer away….
Ah…lol, mothers.
February 22, 2007 at 9:06 pm #542601Mine wont break away from on line games long enough to shop. π
February 22, 2007 at 10:16 pm #542602haha, I thought this was going to be something that said. Don’t let your mother know about Windstones because they will drop their jaw when they find out how much they cost.
I know, I have already told how much I paid for my windstones and my mom was, You could of had curtains..etc for that price.

Been there and done that! I was gazing at my Windstone collection the other night and asked my mom “Don’t they look pretty?” In her not-so-serious-ya-whatever tone, “Oh yes, they are nice.” I then retorted and said that some women collect jewlery and I collect Windstones. (Oddly thinking that this sounded more practical! LOL!) She then said, “They are as expensive as jewlery…” Regardless, I still enjoy Windstones more.
February 22, 2007 at 11:29 pm #542604Yep, they are my new found jewel. π
February 23, 2007 at 12:20 am #542605She’s the one that got the prototype empea OW for me for Christmas, so she knows what they can go for. Maybe it’s that it was so cheap in comparison to what I usually get? I’ve made some purchases lately, and told her what they went for.
What really got me is that she put the unicorn on my watch list last night, and I told her about the one in the mall and not to exceed maybe $25 with shipping.
February 23, 2007 at 12:31 am #542606Well at least you will get to maybe fix it.
February 23, 2007 at 12:44 am #542607my mother for years, thought Windstones were the ugliest , stupidest things she’d ever seen, its quite amusing how they change their tune when they find out what they sell for- now she loves Ki-rins—-go figure
February 23, 2007 at 1:09 am #542608My mom has an ebay account, but generally, she has me do it. She says I’m better at it, and I’m good at sniping π Also a lot of stuff tends to go off later in the evening and I’m more willing to stay up weird hours for things if needed. My bank account is through my dad at the same credit union, so just transfers money to me (I have very trustworthy parents in this department). I’m also the one with the paypal account π
My mom is good about the windstones. She’s pretty nosey about what I get and has her likes, but we cover each other when packages come in and we don’t want dad to know (he gets all grumbly about spending money on stuff sometimes… he’d live spartanly and wear clothes with big worn holes to work if we let him “… but it’s not worn all the way through yet!” It’s a good mutual agreement. I just don’t always tell her how much something costs *cough female griffin cough*

February 23, 2007 at 5:08 am #542610Hey Basilisk, I love your name, many years ago I was a professional reptile breeder. I worked with many super rare species of lizards, one of which was the plumed basilisk from Costa Rica, a true living Windstone dragon, I actually hatched about 20 of your namesakes. You know they can run on water- AKA the Jesus Christ lizard, but I assume you know that already. well anyway cool name…
February 23, 2007 at 11:15 am #542611Thanks, dragonkeeper! I actually took the name of the mythical version, but I love the real-life lizards too. One day I want to breed reptiles…
