    I like Xavier, 49ER.

And I name most of my Windstones. The newest is Nero, the peacock emp I rescued from eBay on a whim. Now I’ll have to name all the rest of my emps (if there ever are any more) after real emperors. Need to stop naming them, though. Makes it harder to sell them if that ever needs to happen.

I love it! You name your Emps after Roman Emperors! I sat where Nero sat when I was in Rome, it was kind of creepy but cool.

Also, my Sunrise lap has been “whispering” a name at me since she arrived but I can’t quite make it out. I keep hearing “Amber” or “Ember”…that or she’s saying “Remember”.

I finally figured out what my Sunrise lap was saying today. Her name is Emberlyn Firedancer.

      Yes, all the time 😀

      My jade scratcher is Jasper.
The emerald peacock male (1st version with more purple) is Tao.
I have yet to come up with suitable names for my green young and hatching…though I was thinking “Medieval” for the young because I got him at Medieval Times.

I’m trying to think of a good name for my gold lap, it’s not very original but I was thinking King because he just looks like royalty in that color!

      Naming Windstones is fun! 🙂

Wow, these are really great names!

I have not named any of my dragons, I have enough BRAIN BURN going on naming these registered foals…limited to a certain amount of letters, including spaces depending on which registry you are working with at the time…LOL :spank:

But PINK dragons, OH PLEASE! I can only drool at the thought of actually getting my hands on any…unless of course, MAN-GENTA, becomes a production run, squeek* squeek* squeek* squeek* squeek* squeek* squeek*

OLD WARRIOR IN MAN-GENTA, he is tough enough to wear PINK!

        My Gold Emperor is Midas.
        My Gold OW is Helios.
        My Jade Scratcher is Perseus.
        My Emerald Lap is Persephone.

I still need to name my Emerald Male and Gold Lap. Maybe the Lap can be Demeter.

My Emerald Rising Spectral is Big Boy. It’s not as classic as the other names, but it stuck.
I haven’t named my Red Fire Sitting Spectral yet either. Maybe Little Girl, to be consistant.

I haven’t named them all, but I did name my Autumn Leaf OW Merlot, because his reds look just like wine. 🙂

          Here is Merlot:

I’ve only named a few Windstones, like My Lady the mother dragon in Old Green with her poor broken wings that I keep meaning to fix. But I’ve named most of the chickens . . . . 😉 We have Silver, Alfalfa, Valentine, Amiga, Beetle, Maple, Mahogany, Zoe, Dusty, Shoe . . . Jake and Elwood the blue Andalusian brothers . . . Major Disappointment the Polish rooster . . . Dot and Dash the speckled Sussex twins . . . Baron Ashler, Checkers, Columbia, Goldie, Little the Old English Games hen, Edith, Twist, Bluebell, Charger, Yellowjacket, Hairball the black Silky rooster, PomPom the buff Silky hen, Donna King (one look at her hairdo, and you know why). Hoppy the rooster (bad legs). And of course, our little blind hen Sonar, the best cuddlebug ever. 🙂

I can do silly names just fine. Dignified names for Windstones, not so much. 😳

My husband and friend are getting me a peacock emperor for Christmas, and I wanted to name him “Nero” also.I think I will name him “Neroto”{pronounced with a Japenese accent} in respect of yours first. 😀 He is an Ebay rescue too. 😆

I think Eliza is a Beautiful name for your Peacock Emporer!!! What does the name of your Scratcher mean?? I have never heard of that before? 😀

Trillium is a deep ground plant that has small flowers in the REdwoods.

I think aside from my windstones, the only other inanimate object is my Coyote skull….Dave.
We have wild Trillium here in Illinois too! It’s beautiful! Ours had deep reddish burgundy flowers and lightly speckled leaves. I am thinking of trying some in my flowerbed under my Sugar Maple, the Hostas just aren’t making it so well. 😕 Well, since the last storm this summer, I suppose they may next year, we lost almost a quarter of the tree with one branch being damaged. 😮
I name PYO’s…Ones I get without a name go unnamed until something pops into my head when I look at it. I have a couple still that don’t have names. Oh, crud…I forgot, Glen and I named the large white Wizard Gandalf though. LOL So, I guess there is one with a name…Well 2. I call my pink Curlie “Baby”. 😳

                  Name your windstones?

Normaly I do not name stuff…but i DO have a ruby lap I called Shimohi, a peacock Emp I started calling Elliza( every time i looked at that thing it looked like a pissed off girl, so Elliza it is) and my Jade scrather I decided to call Trillium.

Most of them I don’t; for some reason, unlike most of my other possessions, names just don’t seem to suggest themselves for the Windstone flock.

However, my BVP Old Warrior (prototype) is named “Valkyrior,” because when I went looking for names that had to do with the aurora borealis (because of his wings), I encountered this bit from Bullfinch’s Mythology:

“THE VALKYRIOR are warlike virgins, mounted upon horses and armed with helmets and spears. Odin, who is desirous to collect a great many heroes in Valhalla, to be able to meet the giants in a day when the final contest must come, sends down to every battle-field to make choice of those who shall be slain. The Valkyrior are his messengers, and their name means “Choosers of the slain.” When they ride forth on their errand, their armor sheds a strange flickering light, which flashes up over the northern skies, making what men call the “Aurora Borealis,” or “Northern Lights.” 1

And my two (of a planned four) “Elemental Dragons” are named for their elements: Argentum and Aurum. (I was quite happy about this; the simplicity of the naming was a big bonus to the whole Elemental idea.) 🙂

Interested in buying or trading for: GB Pebble Sitting Red Fox in dark grey, Lap Dragon Test Paints (Water Sprite, Glacial Pearl, Opulence, Pastel Rainbow, and many others - see my Classifieds ad), Blue Morpho OW, GB Pebble Loaf dragons in blue/aqua/teal, and Griffin Test Paints (Black Rainbow or Frosted Jade).
