I used Elmer’s when I did the same thing to one of the dragon PYO’s.
Your story had me laughing too though.June 5, 2008 at 5:20 am #710825I repainted my muse, then used superglue to pop her eyes back in. Just a teeny drop, then resocketed carefully!
(Same thing – gave her a bath, eye fell out and nearly headed down drain..)

I’m sure you’ll have her looking as good as new when she’s done.

Be careful with superglue. Sometimes the chemicals in it don’t play nice with the enamel backing on eyes / plating on horns.

Indeed! Today I bought some metallic paint, which seemed to brighten up my muse’s day, considering that she lectured me for an hour saying that she needs to be pampered like a queen because I have treated her worse than my other PYO’s. I will suck up to her queen-like ways…for now
.
Maybe Susie should have sent me a nicer muse. I will post some progress pics soon!
June 6, 2008 at 6:50 pm #710830Here she is so far. I am not sure what I think of her yet.
As you can tell, I’m a messy painter.June 6, 2008 at 7:05 pm #710831HAha…looks clean compared to my painting….I get paint splats all over the place..and half the time have a streak or two on my face.
June 6, 2008 at 8:10 pm #710832Very nice color mix! And she looks fine to me. What mess?
June 6, 2008 at 8:47 pm #710833Oh cool! I love hearing about the little muse giving you trouble-lol I really like the area thats orange and yellow, I always have trouble with that part of the muse
Love the blending, I have GOT to learn to do that someday

That was my first time trying to blend colors like that! I struggled with it, but I like it! I just kept on saying to myself “no sharp contrasts!” There are still a couple of areas that need to be improved however. You can do it!
June 6, 2008 at 9:15 pm #710835Wow that’s great!!! Um…could you tell me how you did it? I tried and tried on a test piece, and just could NOT get it to work

I started out with the orange color first, and I painted every area that would have orange in it, and with the paint still wet, I took the yellow and painted over the areas that I wanted to be a lighter orange. Because the paint was still wet the colors blended nicely. As I am doing this I kept an eye out for sharp contrasts between the colors and tried to paint a nice transition from orane to yellow. I then took the yellow color and painted where I wanted it to be purely yellow. I blended the light orange and the yellow where I wanted the transition. When I looked at it, I realized it needed a darker shade to begin with, so I blended some red/orange mix paint at the top. I hope that made sense!
June 6, 2008 at 9:40 pm #710837lol-thanks! I think that is what I was trying to do sorta, but I found that my paint was drying SO quickly that even trying to do it really fast it was too late
I have a Golden brand Retarder that I use, maybe I need to use a lot more-lol Thanks though, I have one muse in progress and another 3 blank so I have to try again!
June 6, 2008 at 11:27 pm #710838I now how she feels. I wake up feeling that way most days
