Did a quick search to seem if a similar topic was up. Didn’t really see anything. So I was wondering how many of you give your dragons names.
I only have a few dragons, though I would love to buy more. My first dragon’s name came to me moments after buying him, and my two white dragons were more stubborn about giving up their names. I have but 5 dragons, a jade coiled named Arazal, a white curled mother names Shay-la, a white young dragon named Shal-nor, a brown young male named Xen, and a green mother named Azaylia. Arazal is my fav and was the one to tell me his name right away. lol, just seeing if I’m as weird as my mum thinks I am for saying my dragons tell me their names, or for naming them at all.
December 4, 2011 at 6:43 am #864367There is one, but it’s been the better part of a year since it’s been active.

Some of my Windstones insist upon names, others don’t, so about 1/4 I think of mine have names. All the earliest ones that aren’t hatching dragons are named, since it was so hard for me to ever get any big ones the few I saved up for were super special. Most are the kind of dragon names a fantasy-stricken teenager would have named her dragons. I have an Isis, Tiamat, Leander, Zaknafin, Drizzt, Cyrus, Larth.
Now I have a Baby Bahamut and a Harry Potter, so I guess the geek in me is still going strong. I’m thinking of naming my first emperor after something from Sandman, but I wanted that name for a silver emperor but those are out of stock now ::grumble grumble:: If I ever get a RF or ruby emperor he will be the King of Red Lions!December 4, 2011 at 6:48 am #864368ah , I see, just didn’t use the right search words. nice names. I now I would have been tempted to use dragon names from final fantasy and such if mine hadn’t told me their names.
December 4, 2011 at 7:06 am #864370I have a Ruby Fledgling with a crooked wing whose name is Roob. No other names have come to me though!
December 4, 2011 at 6:29 pm #864399They would give me their names if I asked but with over 130 Windstones and around that many more in other dragons, names are hard for me to remember so I just do not ask them. Some do as they have given their names before they get here.
It can be hard when even your car is a dragon, but oh the fun to have a safe haven for dragons to come and enjoy.December 4, 2011 at 7:30 pm #864406I think there was another thread, or discussion of it (other than the one Lupus posted). I posted on just one of them that no, I didn’t name them. I guess I’m a bit of a downer about it, but I don’t because they are statues. Their names are what they are to me, ie “male, scratcher, emp” etc.
December 4, 2011 at 8:58 pm #864410I’m like Kujacker; I don’t name them.
The only ones that have names are PYOs, and they were named by the artist.
I only named two PYOs that I painted: a kirin that came with a damaged horn, so he got a special treatment – Piki the okapirin, and a unicorn portrait commission after a horse, Joep.
The rest are descriptive, not actual names-names.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

(Wanted......Brimstone Lap)
Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.December 5, 2011 at 2:44 pm #864475I’ve got close to 30 Windstones and all but one of them have names (still working on a name for the newest arrival). I definitely know what you mean when you say that some just name themselves; sometimes the name just jumps into mind immediately. Others take some time.
Most of the names have no meaning/relation to anything, but some are influenced by whatever I was into at the time (video games, movies, etc.).
Here’s a sampling of mine:
Garrett (male brown griffin)
Leona (female wolf griffin)
Basil, short for Basilisk (peacock emperor)
Emerson (emerald OW)
Bree (amethyst fledgling)
Lorik (white scratcher)
Cornelius (serpentine curlie)
Raiku (black gold fledgling)December 7, 2011 at 1:16 am #864733I’ve got 27, and each one has a name. From Brodick (empea OW), to Widget (brown wolf sitting griffin chick), to Molly (emerald lap dragon).
December 7, 2011 at 1:23 am #864736Some do. Some don’t. My first WS, peacock old warrior, I named Orion, my favorite constellation. They PYO’s do. The curlies no.
