i did not vote ot put them to bed tho i’m not a big fan however when my boyfriend up in washington saw pix of the jade/emerald one i’m hoping to get next month he said ” cute” then i realised why … it looks just like one of his tatoo’s so i may end up keeping it after all
Thanks for doing this, Arlla. I love the orientals and I was hoping they would come out if a different color (black gold, anyone?) so I was very sad to see Melody’s post about discontinuing them. I realize they may still stop them but it’s nice to know other people will miss them as well.
I hope this doesn’t mean there’d be no oriental PYO ever! You know what I’d love to get…a PO gothic unicorn. I’d love to own the gothic, but I know of noplace or noone that has them and ebay rarely ever does.

I have them all in Emerald, except the regular oriental, it might be a jade, but I don’t care its still green! I ordered the Ruby Sun, and IF I get tha chance to get the young I will be happy! I also have the whole Kirin family, I just love the orientals period. I wonder why I haven’t bought a PYO Kirin yet? LOL Water will most likely end up with the firs tone of those I buy or paint… 😆
I would really like to see one in white or a koi color scheme, even as limited production – except for the bidding frinzy it would cause.
I purchased a emerald “jade” oriental 2 months ago because I got it at list price. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that pose, but after displaying it for almost a month now (still moving from old house to new) I have really fallen in love with it. I also got a peacock one off of Ebay that I need to collect from the post office. I think I’d like to collect all the colors in this pose.
A somewhat off-the-wall question for the oriental collectors – do you like all the oriental dragons or only one or two? I really like the oriental dragon. But I can’t bring myself to pay a high price for the young, and although it’s a wonderful sculpt I don’t much care for the sun dragon.
What do you guys think?
I like the sun dragon the best!! The little guy is sooo cute and bigger than I expected, so I dont think the $75 was too much. I figured it was about right. I dont have a regular oriental… I am waiting for one in jade.
The regular oriental is definitely my favorite, though I love the sun dragon almost as much…I might actually love them equally. I don’t love the baby a whole lot, but he’s cute in his way. Some days I like him more than others!
