My favorite midnight snack is a fried egg with a soft yolk sandwich with lots of mayo! OMG! and bacon if I have it! *SO BAD FOR YOU, but I love it!*
Not even realizing it I always seperate my food while I eat into little seperate piles so they don’t touch and I always eat everything evenly so I have one bite of each thing at the end of my meal 😳 I guess it’s an OCD thing. Shaun will always squeal “PILES!” when he catches me doing it.
I love honey mustard on frech fries, ranch dressing… pretty much anything but ketchup! 😆

And I knew somebody back in college in Minnesota who also did the dip-your-fries-in-chocolate-milkshake thing.
It’s pretty odd, isn’t it… I am one of those keep-’em-separate folks, but I do eat pot pie. Just gotta make sure the pot pie doesn’t mix with any of the sides! 😈
September 14, 2010 at 3:03 am #825481Tomato sandwiches? I love them. Me and my mum LIVED off of them.
I also like liversausage and pickle. Got that from my mum and grandma (mum’s mum), and Colin and most other people think it’s gross!
And I do the fries and milkshake thing too. I do it as a bit of a treat sometimes, but not too often, too much sugar for me!
And I dip my toast in my egg yolks, with a little salt and ketchup.
And I’m the opposite from all you food separators. I mush it all together, quite frequently. Unless I can’t. Toast and eggs is an example. But I’ll eat my bacon with my scrambled eggs, and mix mashed potatoes with pretty much anything – especially cranberry sauce and gravy. Yum.
And I like pickle juice. Just had some this morning when I finished off the jar. 😳
September 27, 2010 at 12:54 am #825482When I’m eating grapes, I like to peel the skin off them first with my teeth. It’s not to make it taste different or anything, I just like seeing how much I can get off in one nibble.
September 29, 2010 at 10:51 pm #825483I too am a big fan of saving marshmellows for last in a bowl of lucky charms…but then I realized I almost always do that with anything that is sweet on a plate. If it is sweet I eat it last. I think it comes from the training of being a kid forced into eating food I hated so I learned to save the tastiest thing last so I could reward myself 🙂 I also eat all of one item at a time. I don’t eat a bite of this and a bite of that, I eat all of one thing first. Another weird habit that some of my friends laugh at me for is when I am eating I occasionally shake my hands off…even when I am eating with a fork. I don’t have any explanation for it except that as a kid I walked around with french bread in my hands munching away and it was always very crummy. Someone else mentioned dipping french fries in shakes. Love that especially in a chocolate shake! I also like honey in cold milk. So tasty. And odd as it sounds my dad turned my brother and me onto pickle and peanut butter sandwiches. Sounds gross I know, but it actually is pretty good.
September 30, 2010 at 2:37 am #825484I eat the egg whites first, then use my bread to sop up the yolk.
I really don’t care if my food touches… unless it ruins the flavor/texture of something else in my plate, such as bread rolls. I don’t like it when they get soggy. LOL
When I eat sushi and order tuna rolls, I pull out the tuna and eat it last…. and I also pop roe with my teeth. 😆
I love beans and lentils. I often mix my favorites together when I cook them (black, black-eye peas, pinto, and lentils).
When we order mexican, I will take a chip and dip it into my re-fried beans then mash it into my rice. Instant rice-covered nacho! 😈
I love miso soup, but I always drag the seaweed up the side of bowl where it sticks out of the way (too much iodine).
No milk for me (congestion), I drink almond milk. Other allergies include shellfish (sometimes it sucks living in South Louisiana… people put shellfish in and on everything down here!) and red meat (I just don’t digest it well. I can have EXTREMELY small amounts with out regretting it the next day). I will not elaborate. LOL
But my weird allergy is to potatoes –SUUUUCKS!! 🙄 No french fries, mashed potatoes, potato chips, hash browns, baked, scalloped, or whatever. I could care less about the shellfish allergy or the red meat… but a potato allergy just plain bites! And it’s really annoying when you ask the waitress if you can substitute french fries for another side and she asks, “Mashed potatoes or potato salad?” REALLY!? 😡 *sigh*
Most people gain weight if they go off their diet… I get low blood sugar, fatigue, hives, sinus congestion, etc. So there’s a big incentive to follow it pretty closely. LOL! But there is a positive trade off… I usually weigh no more than 125lbs. 😉
September 30, 2010 at 1:38 pm #825485😮 😮 😮 That is a weird allergy! I don’t think you’d survive here, in Idaho… 😈

September 30, 2010 at 5:43 pm #825486– I like to dip carrot sticks (or baby carrots) in pizza/marinara sauce. Same with pretzels.
– I’ll eat pretzels with orange juice. I like the combination.
– I’ll also wrap pickle spears/baby pickles (have to be kosher or polish dill) in slices of american cheese. My dad had me try it one time and they complement each other surprisingly well!
– Learned from a former friend in college, I’ll take honey and put it on my steak sandwiches or philly cheese steaks if there are peppers on it. You don’t really taste the honey, but it sweetens the edge off the peppers. 🙂
– I eat peanut butter, mayo and pickle sandwiches (so does my 1st grade teacher).
– I’ll eat lots of things raw, esp. veggies, that I won’t eat cooked. Yay potatoes!
– I pop fish roe with my teeth and play with it on my tongue.
– I use yellow mustard on most sandwiches. No butter, no mayo (miracle whip light… I don’t use real mayo).
– Fried or sunny side egg sandwiches with mayo. Must have at least 2 eggs, preferable 3.
– I like my eggs with runny yolks and (when I’m home alone) I’ll lick the plate clean of all the yummy yolk if I have hard boiled eggs or something and there is yolk remaining. I’ll make my scrambled eggs a little runny as well (so they aren’t dry, like most restaurants serve omeletes).
– Salt for my potatoes (raw or otherwise)… occasionally I’ll add gravy (not the country fried kind).
– I like pickled ginger.
– Where the variety exists (my fridge, college dining halls, etc.), I’ll mix a glass of 2 parts coke classic, 1 part orange juice, and 1 part fruit punch (or cherry/fruit punch Kool-aid). Tastes great and looks pretty (it looks kind of like a Tequila sunrise).
– I like caesar dressing, but it depends on the brand (a few out there just stink). I’ll make salads or dip meat or even pretzels in it. Great thing is, other than the little bit of parmesan cheese in it, I can have it without a problem! Wishbone brand is fantastic. 🙂
– I don’t eat Tex-Mex/Southwestern food. Don’t like beans (the texture gets me), and I don’t eat a lot of the spices. No tacos for me, but I do like some good chili. I also don’t eat much BBQ (don’t really like pork or if the coating is vinegar based instead of tomato based, it won’t agree with me and defeat the purpose of eating).
– I don’t eat real mayo. Only Miracle Whip light for Mayo. The real stuff is too rich. Won’t eat most potato salads (American styled) or macaroni salads out because of this.October 25, 2010 at 9:04 pm #825487LOL what a fun topic. LadyFirebird, you sound like you’d get along great with me and my boyfriend. He eats fried eggs the same way you do and I eat things I like least first too 😆
I *love* Special K chocolate-and yes, save all the sinking chocolate bits for last-abit like everyone’s marshmallow habit lol
This weekend I discovered blueberry butter sandwitches-butter on one side blueberry preserves on the other-nom nom nom!
When I get pizza, I mix maranara and ranch to dip the crusts in.
My ex co-worker, Jim, created his own “Jim’s Pizza” recipe-it had some normal stuff on it, but he’d mix pizza sauce and BBQ sauce for the sauce under the toppings and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the crust when it was done. It was really light and you couldn’t taste it unless you were looking for it but it TOTALLY made it taste better (if that makes sense…well, Wolfen, if you cant taste it, how can it make it taste better? GOod question. Its a mystery!)-everyone made a face at first, then we’d be asking him to make another pizza tomorrow lol
I put hot sauce in my ramen noodles (picked that up from the BF)
I eat honey on bread as a snack (my friend from NY thought it was strange lol)
I eat my grits with sugar and butter (unlike the rest of my family who likes salt and pepper)
I eat spaghetti with a SPOON and fork
If the ice cream has all those ice crystals on top or its a little old but Im dying for some ice cream, I’ll mix it in a cup with some milk. Its like a mild milk shake. It doesnt taste freezer burned or anything. I didn’t think that was weird at all, but Josh thought it was nasty-which is saying something lol *shrugs*
Josh’s mom turned me on to eating tomato soup with popcorn. You have to dip each piece of popcorn in the soup and eat it immedately or it gets soggy but the flavor and texture are great!
My grandmother makes candied cucumbers. IDK how she does it but its pretty basic I think-red hot candies and sliced cucumbers. Oh man they are amazing! But apparantly an aquired taste. Cinnamony and crunchy. I dont like cucumbers any othe way.
oooo and another great one-the canned bisquits that you find in the dairy isle-I like to eat them raw. Just one or two, uncooked, raw. I like the thick flavor of the yeast in the bread 🙂 mwahah
Josh and I got into a debate about this the other day-I like to eat apples and cheese. I say “EVERYONE” eats apples and cheese. He says no one does and that Im crazy lol But its good.
