I thought this would be a fun topic to share. 😀
Do you have any weird/obsessive food habits? Here are a few of mine:
• I really dislike green onions. Whenever I get soup at an Asian restaurant, they usually have a patch of green onions floating at the top. Typically the bowl is sitting on a small saucer, so I always spoon out the green onions on to the saucer. Apparently this habit phased over to Scott, because he now does it too. LOL 😈
• When I eat a bowl of cereal with marshmallows, I eat all of the cereal bits first so I can enjoy the marshmallows all by themselves. LOL!
• If I get chicken nuggets, I eat all the breading off first.
• When I eat tacos, I split the shell in half, pour hot sauce over the filling and it eat first. Then I pour hot sauce all over the shell and eat it last.
Those are just a few of mine. 😀 What are some of yours??
August 26, 2010 at 4:14 pm #501481August 26, 2010 at 4:54 pm #825466I love eggrolls, but cant eat cabbage, so I tend to make very meaty, cabbage free eggrolls at home. Instead of cabbage I’ll put sauted red bell peppers, onion, carrot, and other veggies. I dont know if that counts as weird though….
I know I tend to forget to eat, and will often eat one really large meal at the end of the day. I drink various types of warm tea throughout the entire day however.
August 26, 2010 at 5:41 pm #825467Oh yum, those eggrolls sound delicious! I don’t eat cabbage either, I’d totally dig those. 😀
August 26, 2010 at 5:43 pm #825468I HATE beans!! ANY bean (except green beans). I would rather eat a bug than eat a bean. When I was a kid my mom would make chili, and of course I would pick out every last bean. When I was in my 20’s my mom told me that when she made chili she put beans in the blender and mixed them in so I was eating icky beans the entire time and didn’t know it!! :puke:
When I was a kid, any time my grandfather ate soup he would mix a ton of ketchup in it first. I tasted it and now I like putting kethup in soup. My husband says he’s never smelled anthing so vile!
When we go to the asian buffet restaurant in our town, I grab a plate and head to the wonton soup pot & pick out a heaping plate of just wontons :yum: (If I ate the soup I would probably end up putting ketchup in it anyway 😆 )
August 26, 2010 at 5:57 pm #825469Oh man I’m the same way, I’ve always hated beans! I don’t like how the bean skins get stuck to the roof of my mouth.
I really do like vegetables, honest! 😆
August 26, 2010 at 9:21 pm #825470Hey MG, I eat the cereal first and then the marshmallow bits last as well!
When I eat fried eggs, I eat the white part first and save the yolk for last to dip bread in.
If I have 3 things on my plate, I’ll eat the one I least like first and save what I like best for last.
If I have apple pie ala mode, I’ll eat the pie part first and eat the ice cream last.
As a kid, I used to eat the crust off white bread and then scrunch the bread part into little balls before I ate them [sometimes I still do this 😈 ]
I know I do a lot of weird things so will come back to this when I remember them! 😆

I DO THAT TOO!! (and I’m 30, hee hee) 😀August 27, 2010 at 2:04 am #825472AnonymousMachineguts, that’s just weird LOL
Hmmm…..
I don’t like BLT’s but I love Bacon and Mustard sandwiches – white bread no toast
I love Spam
I don’t like my food touching each other on a plate and spend considerable time keeping them separated.
I eat eggyolks runny dipped onto my butter toast – I hate the white part of the egg and give that to someone else to eat
I drink (LOVE) the juice out of the olive jar
I share my cran-raspberry drinks with my birds, and drink after them (this isn’t weird it’s just considerate!)
Can’t think of anything else, but I’m pretty sure there’s something else LOLAugust 27, 2010 at 2:41 am #825473I totally do the marshmallow-cereal thing too! I love how the outside of them gets all spongy, and I suck the outside off before I crunch the dry middle part in my front teeth! (Hmm, maybe that was *too* obsessive..)
I also prefer to keep my different foods separate. And I tend to eat all of one thing, before moving on to the next. The glass of milk goes down last!
I eat the egg white first, then eat the entire egg yolk in one bite! That way, none of the runny yolk escapes. But I try to hide doing it in restaurants because it’s probably pretty rude to do.
I love eating sushi like california rolls with the smelt roe in it, because I like popping the little eggs all by themselves in my teeth.
And I love sunflower seeds, I can pack a half bag of those babies down in one sitting. My parrot loves them too and she always pesters me for them, whenever she sees me take a bag out.
I love eating shellfish too. I think I have some leftover hunter-gatherer type thing going on, because I like to work for my meals! 😆August 27, 2010 at 3:26 am #825474After my car accident I lost my sense of taste & smell, the only thing I could taste for over a year was ranch dressing! Lol so as you can imagine I put ranch dressing on everything, just about (not sweets tho ;). I’ve regained most of my taste and sense of smell but still have to have my ranch for just about everything 🙂
August 27, 2010 at 9:09 pm #825475I don’t like tomato chunks, cooked or not. I love tomato sauce but it there are chunks, it goes to the hubby. I’ll even dip my chips in salsa but I just want the sauce on my chip, I leave the chunks.
Don’t like peppers of any kind. I don’t even like the smell of peppers when we get pizza, needless to say, there are none on my half.
I used to eat the eyeballs of cooked fish when I was a kid (I’m Chinese, we usually serve fish whole, head still attached).
I don’t like for my foods to touch either. I keep thinking I should get those plates that have the separate portions. 😀September 3, 2010 at 8:19 pm #825476I love to dip hot french fries into ice-cold chocolate milkshakes or m&m blizzards. Yummy! :yum:
I still roll up chunks of bread, too! I’d almost forgotten that one (don’t eat bread that often anymore…)
Not into separating my foods from each other–it’s all going to the same place anyway! 😆 Guess y’all don’t eat pot pies… 😉
Tomato sandwiches–bread (or toast), sliced tomatoes, a little mayo, salt and pepper. Cheap and tasty!
Fresh butter on saltine crackers; chocolate frosting on graham crackers; cream cheese and ripe olives on tortillas.
September 12, 2010 at 4:34 am #825477A friend of mine got me started on drinking Sprite through a Red Vine, but it tastes best at the movie theater.
When putting brown sugar on my oatmeal, I always hide a lump somewhere in it.
When eating apples or pears, I eat everything but the stem. (Except that some apples have really bitter seeds, and those I spit out.)
I can take half an hour to eat a grapefruit or orange; I love the white pith, and will peel it off first. Then I go after each section of fruit, peeling the outer layer off and then eating the inside.
September 12, 2010 at 4:55 am #825478I don’t really care for butter, so ketchup on my potatoes no matter if they are mashed, boiled, or baked. Same with eggs, ketchup even on over easy eggs. Another thing, I have to make sandwiches with all the fillings laid on top of each other in a certain order.

I use to do that with Twizzlers-use them as straws after I bit the bottom and top off. 🙂
