The soup comment is from Seinfield. The “soup Nazi” on that show says it. πFebruary 19, 2007 at 4:07 pm #529105dragonessjade wrote:DragonsCavern wrote:OK now I am lost ROFLMAO!!!! π π

And then sits aside and **pouts** LOL! π π Bu….Bu….I LOVE soup! πMarch 11, 2007 at 9:19 pm #529106Another quick question… do you use stiff brushes, or soft ones? I find the stiff ones help me paint in the lines better, but they are not so great for blending.
March 11, 2007 at 10:18 pm #529107Definately not good for blending, drybrushing yes.
Almost all of my brushes are soft. I like Royal brand ones myself, (the soft bristle feel feathery)but any really soft one is good for…
blending, painting smooth areas so there are no streaks (KiRin scales)I use medium stiffness (which I describe as a brush that will pop back up when you run your thumb over the bristles while it is wet) for drybrushing on soft area & a little wet blending on very detailed areas (SO YOU CAN GET IN ALL THE NOOKS AND CRANNIES), of fur or feathers. I use larger ones for basecoating & very small ones for detal work & lines.
Stiff brushes I seldom use. (Stiffness is when you run your finger/fingernail over it and it sounds like speed flipping pages in an animation notebook) They work well for drybrushing for beginners, but if you have a brush that it too stiff it will leave splotches on smooth areas, plus dry paint tends to flake onto the piece your painting and that irritates me. ESPECIALLY when I don’t notice it and then smudge it into the piece later on.
So I try to use the medium stiffness when I can, though it’s alot easier to screw up, it does work ALOT better once you get used to knowing how much paint to leave on your brush for an even application.Got a busted Windstone?
