😀 So a friend of mine took me to Disneyland for her sweet 16 party… I am so exhausted from it (still) that I can’t really do anything else besides post, haha! I need a nap! Anyway, we stayed at a hotel in the California Adventure park and did the two-day thing. It was a lot of fun, but, to be honest, I don’t think I will ever need to go to Disneyland again. XD So. Many. People.

The best part was going on the Screamin’ roller coaster at California Adventure. It’s the first time I’ve been on a loopy roller coaster–and it was so different from what I expected, there isn’t any sensation of being upside down! I thought it would be nausea inducing and stomach twirling, but it wasn’t. Also, my friend made me go on Tower of Terror… which is quite aptly named, in my humble opinion. I couldn’t stop shaking for like five minutes after getting off the ride.

Heh… so, anyway. Anyone else been to Disneyland recently? I can’t believe how much BIGGER it seems since the first time I went, which was when I was 7.

Now… pardon me while I fall asleep on the keyboard.

I went for the first time a couple years ago now already, when I was…. 26? Getting old. ;D I loved it and wanna go again! ^_^ I think it’ll be Disneyworld next though. *G*

I’m on the east coast so we go to Disney World. I last went a year ago December and loved the new ride at the time – Soaring? It was really cool. I hate crowds but I’ll tolerate them for the parks – love Epcot (the Imagination building is my favorite – have a cat named Figment) and the Animal Park. I like going in December because everything is decorated for Christmas and they have an amazing concert at Epcot.

My sister is a bona fide Disney nut (well, she’s a nut) and just got back last week from a Disney cruise which she loved.

Ooh, they have Soaring at California Adventure, here. It’s so neat… and since I’m a bit scared of heights it really freaks me out. I love it.

Oooh, yeah, Soarin’ was awesome! I didn’t try the roller coaster, but it was out of order anyway (I should definitely try it next time, if it really isn’t all that bad as you say, Chessie!)

We were lucky when we went because it was off-season, and mainly weekdays, and so we mostly dealt with low fellow-tourist volumes only. Hardly any waiting and not much crowding (I hate crowds of people too). By the weekend, we had to contend with an added influx of locals, but it wasn’t so bad.

The roller coaster is fabulous. It was more fun (and less scary!) than I thought it would be! The experience was just one tremendous “WHEEEEE!” with a few screams and heart palpitations thrown in. It sucks that it was closed when you went.

Yeah, apparently they’d had an issue with the two different trains of cars being out of time with each other, and colliding. 0_0

I had never been on rides much before our California trip, so I wasn’t sure how I’d deal with them even though I love high speed and flying with a passion (I suffer from vertigo though, just a bit). Turns out I LOVE rides, especially roller coasters. Gotta try more! I think I’m one of those roller coaster thrill junkies. 😈

Hehehehehe! Disneyland! Louis and I went when they had the haunted mansion all decorated with Nightmare before Christmas! It was totaly awesome! Tower of Terror, Soarin over California, and California Sreamin’ are the really only worthwhile things to do in the California Park, glad you got to do all three!

What are your favorite rides in the original park Chessie?

I haven’t been since the late 80s. I was gonna go again about 5-10 yrs ago but never made it. I don’t think I would like that many rides anyway. I can’t stand the ones that go upside down. I get motion sickness even in a helecopter or if I am in the back seat of the car. I hate landings on planes as well. If I did ever have a kid then I might take them.

I went to Disneyland when I was thirteen, in the late ’70s. I’m sure it’s much different now. There’s a theme park in my home town though, Valley Fair. I used to go there a lot, and took my step-daughter a couple years ago. It’s hard though, because my husband and I both have arthritis in our necks, and I have permanent vertigo that I have to take medicine for everyday or else I feel like throwing up just from walking or watching TV. It makes it hard for either of us to go on rides with her.

I’ve never been to Disneyland, but have been to Disney World a couple of times… Last time was.. hmmm… think think…1990? But I’ve commandeered the hubby’s vacation time this year, and we are going to Disney World in December (he’s never been)… We are taking a vacation… We haven’t had one since before 2000…

Last time I went to Disneyworld was 1994, when the Lion King was in theaters. ;P

The secret to avoiding the crowds (and the heat!) is to go at night! We went during the day if we wanted to catch shows, then went back to the resort during the busiest part of the afternoon, then went back at night after the sun went down.

The crowd is much lighter then.

I was there in July for my 40th birthday. It was a nice time but I can not say I’m in any hurry to return. Soaring was GREAT. I’m also not a big ride person. I get motion sickess now too. I never did as a kid but I do now
