You should kick his butt!! As heavy as the emps are, he should have known to package him more securely. *shakes fist in rage* Like everyone else is saying, you’re being waaay nicer than I would be at this point.
March 30, 2008 at 3:36 pm #684806I agree. Way nicer. But sometimes you have to promise people the best in order to get your money back. If he doesn’t respond today, give him a negative. Skip the neutral all together.

Yeah, but once I do that, then where is his incentive to cooperate with me? If I open a claim with PayPal, do they require that I return the dragon?
I really just want some of my money back, in his current condition he isn’t worth much, and I feel I am being quite generous in only asking for half of his purchase price. I think I will give him until Monday, only because a lot of people don’t look at their email on the weekends. But after that, I guess I am down to arguing with him about it.

The idea is: if he doesn’t respond, he isn’t going to cooperate. If you feel you can still get something out of him, you should try all methods first, by all means. But if you waste a lot of time and get nothing, don’t give him a positive or a neutral because he was nice or something. Don’t cave in.

Oh, I won’t. If he doesn’t respond to the email I just sent with pictures of the dragon in pieces and my request for a response by tomorrow, then I will be filing claims with eBay and PayPal, as long as neither require me to return the dragon, if they do, then I guess I will have to eat it. If I have to eat it, then he is getting some really ugly negative feedback.
An intact dragon for the price I paid would have been nice, but I only spent $122 on him. I don’t consider him worth more than $50 as he is though, so I am hoping to get part of my money back.
We’ll just have to see what the seller does, but so far it doesn’t look very promising.

If he was sent damaged, you should get all of your money back… Did you have him insured? Even if he wasn’t, you still paid “full Price” for him and you deserve to get all the money back.. even if you have to return the dragon. Think of it this way.. if you get to keep him, but only get half of your money back… then you’re really just putting more money into him in restoration. Go for all the money, then work from there.
But I do agree that you shouldn’t give a neutral feedback if he isn’t being cooperative. You can take it up with Ebay, they’re really good at settling bad feedback that isn’t/is deserved.March 30, 2008 at 6:37 pm #684811I’m with everyone else on this issue!! I literally SCREAMED 😯 when I saw that photo of that poor Emperor! But I understand you being generous and giving him every opportunity to fix things. That is a great fix job! Especially considering the arrival photo! I hope you can make Humpty Dumpty whole again. 🙁

Rest assured I can, which is why I am willing to let him keep some of the money. And I don’t want to return the dragon, since I wanted this particular dragon for a project piece anyway, I never planned for him to stay Peacock. The only thing I am disappointed with is that I will have to put so much time into restoring him so I can do the painting I planned for him.

That’s what I was going to say, too.
I’m very sorry he arrived broken, but I can’t wait to see what Kyrin does with him!
March 30, 2008 at 7:19 pm #684815Just as a gentle reminder, repaints are discouraged. I’m not saying I don’t understand why you would want to repaint a badly damaged dragon! I can’t blame you, but they are discouraged. They are already causing us problems. I lost nearly a weeks’s worth of work recently because of them.

How did that happen??
As for repainting them…I have no intention of selling this one, I bought him for me. If I were planning to sell him, or was repainting him for that purpose, I can understand Windstone having an issue with it. However, in this case, since he will never leave this house, I think repainting him will be okay.
The Orientals, well…not sure what I can say in my defense, except that they were broken, and while restoring them to original is possible, it is more fun to do Koi, they just seem to call out for it.
I will say, that the Sun Oriental I did was not originally meant for sale, but I fell on hard times. The other one was sent to me for repair with a request to repaint him since he was already so compromised with the break and the other repaint done previously.
I also want to say that I will not be making a habit out of repainting things.

Jennifer, how do you lose work off the repaints?
