Hi, Melody!
I’d like to know the brand name, the color and the tip size (extra-fine, fine, medium, etc.) of the paint pen that were used for the detailing on the white dragons… I have a little fledgling that needs some touch-ups.
Thanks!
February 10, 2007 at 7:52 pm #537858I know Melody told me once to use Deco pens. The come in gold, but I don’t know about the lighter gold. I don’t think it matters the size, it all depends on when you can work with. I just use the regular kind. (hot pink label) I got the fine tip ones a few times (blue label) and they blotch and drip badly ever time I’ve used them.

Thanks! That’s a little tricky; The gold effect is created by painting the details with yellow and then airbrushing over them. I think the airbrushed color is pale gold acrylic paint. You might be able to match it with yellow acrylic and then brush a thin layer of gold acrylic over it. The yellow color is a Deco pigment marker. The tip is the medium size, not the fine point one.

Thanks though! 🙂
February 11, 2007 at 12:13 am #537862When I painted the gold detail on my EmPea curly, I got a gold paint pen and squeezed some out in a pie pan. Then I used a really small paintbrush and carefully painted the details. That worked out good for me.
