    Hi Melody 🙂

This might be a weird question, but I was curious.. when you get a bad or defective casting of Windstones and they need to be destroyed, how is that done? Does someone just go out back with a sledgehammer and take them out, or is there a more formal means for their demise?

Yeah, I guess this sounds like a kind of morbid question in the world of sculptures, but I was looking at some pictures of very damaged dragons and for some reason it came to mind. I don’t know how I would feel about it as an artist – I know that in your line of work crap happens and things must be destroyed before sending them to the dump, but I can imagine it being a sad thing when it actually has to be done!

They get smashed with a hammer. I can’t do it, someone else has to.
We were wishing we could pulverize them and reuse the material, but it would be too difficult to do that.
Now that we do copper patina, we rescue a lot of pieces that would otherwise get destroyed.

Thanks for the response Melody 🙂

That’s kind of what I figured – I wouldn’t want to be present to see any of my art destroyed, even if it was defective ><

A lot of damaged pieces wind up decorating the factory… We don’t put them all “to sleep”
