Okay, so I’ve lost too many auctions in a row with my limited funds. I’ve been watching the Flame Point Male Dragon on ebay soaring up in price and I’m getting so depressed I’m about to cry.
(I know I know, I’m being a cry baby right)
Well, I remember when I used to be able to buy lots of Windstones back when I had three steady incomes coming into the household. Two being mine, and the other my boyfriend. A new Windstone would be like a weekly thing for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not gloating and I’m FAR from rich, I just work REALLY hard for my money and I’m not a saver by any means. I can’t remember the last time I bought a pair of pants or a new shirt, but you bet your butt I know that last 10 Windstones I bought! LOL!
Well, since Shaun’s been out of work for months now and one of my jobs is offering less and less hours so now it’s really hitting me that on top of I don’t have the kind of money I can’t ever buy any new Windstones. I went from buying a new one every week or two to suddenly standing on the sidelines. I guess this is normal for most people but I feel like I’m still adjusting, and I’ll admit, I’m depressed about it. I’m working harder then ever! I’m trying to put in tons of hours at work & painting, fursuiting stuff for ebay and I have nothing to show for it. As soon as my Paypal account fills out it’s empty again. Just some paid up pieces of paper in the mail that don’t have red writing on them & me passed out on the couch every second I’m not busy because I’m exhausted. Thankfully Shaun is a good housewife and the house has been nice and clean almost every day when I come home so that’s a plus. 😀
I guess I shouldn’t be pissing and moaning. There are many people who can’t even pay their bills right now which is what makes me even more depressed that it’s bothering me so much when so many other people are so much worse off. I’ve been wanting to lay off the Windstones because is HAS really gotten out of hand. I mean I have all my credit cards in debt consolidation now and it was pretty much all Windstones :spank: On top of other personal reasons, I’ve wanted to stop collecting entirely, but that’s proving to be near impossible. I swear! They’re like crack, only more expensive and I’m more then likely addicted for life.
Well, I have been scrimping and saving for an ebay piece and if I’m not going to win one then I’m looking for some production ones to fill the void. If anyone is looking to sell either a Red Fire Rising Spectral Dragon or a Brown Fledgling I’m looking for one of those at the moment to make me feel better and have a new critter for the shelf!

But as long as I can afford PYO’s and people are willing to swap them with me, I can always look forward to *just one more Windstone Fix*! I’m anxiously awaiting PYO Ki-Rin so I can do my swap with Mmloda. I sent payment for my first new piece in months today, and it was just a curlie (I’ll finally get a Lavender Pearl!!! 😮 ), but it is a Windstone! (I’m $200 on my way to scrimping for a SK, and it’s taken me 4 months to scratch that much up. I want a gold SK sooooo bad I can taste Gypsum! 😮 )
So don’t get too down, we all have dry spells. *hugs* 🙂Hopefully this country can stop worrying about T.E.A. parties and maybe figure out what to do so we don’t end up in bread lines like they did in Russia years back. 😡

I can sympathise with your thinking to an extent. I’ve never been in the running for any auction piece, I know right off the bat I’ll never afford them! The special pieces are beautiful and unique so yeah, I think we all crave those things! (*stops to think about that lovely flame point tabby male..* eeek, where was I?! Oh yeah!) I consider myself lucky to have the collection that I do. None of my pieces are mint, but otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to afford them at all! Repairing them has been a very enjoyable experience too. Since the time I really started collecting, I’ve had to sell quite a few things to help pay for tuition and living expenses, but that’s okay! One advantage to having a small collection is that I have plenty of space to admire the pieces I do have!
I’m sorry Dragonfeathers that your current financial situation limits your Windstone purchases. I’m sure the factory could use your business! But there are lots of other things that bring happiness. With a new apartment and spring fast-approaching, I’m saving my money for home improvement supplies and materials for my first vegetable garden in years! My own work situation is sporadic at best; I have no job security as each job term I work only lasts for a few months. I have managed to save up enough to keep me going for a while if I find myself without work, and unfortunately my Windstone and dinosaur collectibles could always go up on the auction block if worst came to worst 🙁 But life is always like that, I think. Windstone pieces are beautiful and inspiring things, but in the end they can’t replace things like good health, financial security, and peace of mind. I hope that all of your hard work pays off for you, and you can get back to the way things used to be. At least you know you’ll always have good company here!

Yeah, Germany during WWII, inflation was so bad that a bowl of soup and some bread was 3100 marks!!! At least we can hope that things will turn around berfore it gets that bad!!! 😮 🙄

This is just one more thing on the plate to the numerous other “actually” important things going wrong right now, but I just don’t like to piss and moan about my personal life anymore publicly as opposed to whining about Windstones so much. Between my job, my new boss, bickering with coworkers for sales, this stupid insurance company still not paying for the damage from when my house got hit and run, issues with the family, my animals fighting, and overwhelming arguments over money with the boy and his job situation… I’ve been pretty stressing, and Windstones are my only form of release at the moment it seems. 🙄
I can’t wait until the end of May. I’ll be going to a convention for 4 days with siberkh1 and we are GOING TO HAVE A BALL! 😀 I’m not going to want to come back home. LOL!

I’m sorry to hear about your house. I can relate to not being able to win auctions recently. There are several pieces I want, but I think I’d rather keep my CC paid off right now. Arlla’s leopard griffins are going to kill me. I love them, but alas I must be virtuous and frugal my mother assures me there is a difference between frugal and cheap. :scratch: We can have chocolate a moose together.

Bah! Technically we got the check about 3 days ago, (FINALLY, after 3 months of arguing with the insurance company about where it was) but it’s a USELESS piece of paper we can’t even CASH! Our bank refused it because It’s made out to our loan company which is in Missouri so now we have to ship the check to them, for them to sign it, then mail it back to us, so we can then cosign it, so we can cash it and who knows how much longer that’s going to take!
Apparently that’s how it’s done all the time with home owners insurance, but the whole thing has been a nightmare! In the meantime, with all the rain we have been getting, now it’s probably going to cost even more then what we got since now everything is getting water damaged because all the vinyl siding got busted in down to the insulation! Now our basement keeps taking on water which is NEVER did before, and out vinyl siding is all nasty and covered with pink moss from the insulation. We tried to cover it with plastic, but it didn’t work very well 🙄 I don’t even understand what the problem is! It was the insurance company who gave us the estimate in the first place, not even a competing company so I don’t know why it has taken so long. I must have heard about 15 times “The check is in the mail” or, “Oh, you should be getting it any day now” Yea, okay! 3 months later here we are with a check we can’t cash. ARGH! :shout:
Plus we need a new fence now because my sisters dogs keep getting under the bent chain link fence and keep trying to run out into the street. Thank god my dog is too big and too smart to even try that. What a disaster… bah!
Oh, setsuna, I know how you feel! Those griffins are stunning!!! but we’re going to need a LOT more then chocolate moose! :yum:

OMG, I have already seen it twice, which wasn’t nearly often enough, so now I will be scrambling to get up money for tickets to it. I think they go on sale in May. 🙄 🙄

Now, I wasn’t saying you have to be happy all the time, or can’t be depressed about not being able to buy the pretties you once were able to afford. I was just saying, that I know where you are coming from! And, it sucks! 😛
But, it will get better in time, and we can play catch up till our hearts desire. 😀
