I certain amount of gratitude and thankfullness is definately deserved but there is such a thing as taking it too far. Is she? Kindness should be given freely or it kinda defeats the point. One of my favorite quotes…

“THe only kind of kindness which is genuine is that which is not diminished by the indifference of others.”

Kindness should be given without expectation or the demand of pay. If you do the best to treat your roommate as a friend, she should do the same. She shouldn’t care about “payback”. Taking someone in when they have no where else to go is definately the act of a friend, all she should need is you to be a friend back. Maybe she’s grieving the cat and just taking out her stress and grief on you when she shouldn’t, but doesn’t really know how else to grieve. I know when I found out my grandma died last week I ended up getting irritable with my husband and we fought over nothing 😳 . I just needed to yell at someone, gladly he understood that (we’ve been together a reaallly long time…).Hope this rambling mess helps some, or at least makes a little sense, I need some more cough medicine….ick. I hate being sick…

It will pass. Me and Star are feeling left out, too. 😆 We wanna go. Maybe next year for us and you can join us. 😉 Cheer up and try to ignore your roommate. Why is she taking your money?

Yes, visit us next year! Maybe we will be in the new place then, and I don’t need to be depressed about you seeing the pit we live in, (meaning the whole San Fernando Valley.)

I really would like too!!! 😀

Geez, you sound like a dream compared to a male friend I took in when he was down on his luck. This was years ago and he was nice- for the first week. Then he started bringing all these well, unsavory kinds of women over. I could sort of let that go but keep it quiet in the night, if you know what I mean & please dont constantly leave them alone in the house! Duh! It’s not like they were his friends (again, you know what I mean).

I was very good to him and even let him slide- he didnt have to kick in for utilities. But he then took more advantage of my nature and over stepped his bounds. I gave him 30 days notice to vacate (like everyone before him did… ‘cept they kicked him out right away… I should have seen it coming but I wanted to believe in the good in ppl, especially my friend as he was great before he moved in). I had my other friend standing there with all her things ready to move in while her house was being built… and the other one hadnt even begun packing! We stood in the foyer, leaning against the wall waiting for him to get a move on!

Point is, this girl, your roomie, could be doing a heck of a lot worse than you. You sound like a very decent person. She should recognize that her situation could be oh so much worse. I dont agree that she should be lording over you either.

If it is kitty loss, hopefully things will diffuse soon. I am sorry about the kitten 😥

      Good luck, D

Hopefully it will pass and she will apologize on her own.
