Insurance is optional, and even so, $110 with S&H isn’t a bad price.

True, but it kind of puts the buyer in a bad position… either you overpay for insurance, or you just risk it without insurance, but if something happens you don’t have any recourse.

Does insurance make sure you get your money back from the seller or from the post office? Because if you need to claim your money from a seller, I’d only add it for sellers that seem good, not from shady characters who’ll raise a fuss and cause trouble. (I never bother with insurance. Too mush hassle to fight across the ocean. If it breaks, I fix it.)

You get the money back from the PO if they decide it was packed well and broke because of them.

I see. Then it might be worth it. But then again, waiting for them to admit breakage is their fault probably takes a lot longer than just fixing most things yourself – emperors excluded.

It takes forever. I am still waiting on my check for the one I sent to Arlla that broke! That was back when she painted my tabby!

Do they let you keep the item after – if – they pay you for breaking it?

They are not supposed to, but some of them do. I have claimed 2 things. One was taken, one was not.

            😕 I wonder what they’d do with a broken-tailed emperor?
