There will be a peek if I can remember my camera.
I’ve been really, really busy. My Mom broke her arm, and probably a few wrist bones… so I haven’t been paying attention to the board much.
I’ll be sending thoughts and prayers her way!
March 21, 2008 at 5:54 am #657688*wince* that’s gotta hurt. I’ve spent my time in a body cast… definitely no fun at all. Tell your mom I sympathize 😯

March 21, 2008 at 11:58 am #657691I hope she is Ok! My mum is a Radiographer you know x-rays people for broken bones etc
I broke my wrist when i was younger and it was quite painfull she took one look and told me to stop moaning because it wasn’t broken. I was still moaning the next day so she took me to hospital and x-rayed me to proove it and low and behold it was broken! I was in cast for 6 or 11 weeks i can’t remember. The funny thing was the week i got it out of plaster i broke my other wrist and back to hospital i went! 😆

sounds like what happened to me when I was about 12 or 13. I broke both wrists at the same time when I fell while roller skating. 2 weeks later the parentals were finally tired of me complaining about “it hurts *whine*” took me x-rays and I’d broken ’em both right at the begining of summer, so no swimming for me (but no dishes either ) DZ, I hope your mum feels better soon. It isn’t fun at all when you hurt….

March 21, 2008 at 5:02 pm #657698She fell down a small incline, put her arms up to protect her face, and landed with her wrist against the curb. The ulna is fractured, possibly some of the smaller bones, and she has a nasty bump on her chin where she slammed into the pavement, and some minor scrapes and bruises.
She’s never broken a bone in her life, which is the amazing part – given how involved my family is with large, and often fractious horses. Trying to be supportive long-distance is more than a chore, and very time consuming.
She’s starting to annoy my father, so I suppose that means she’s on the road to recovery. But this was not the way to find out that she does not have osteoporosis (which is really, really good at her age).

I understand. 🙁 My mother was diagnosed and treated for cancer when I lived some 1500 miles away and I couldn’t afford tickets to visit and support her. Those were some of my darkest times, it was very hard. All my best to you and yours!
