I love that color. I hope these become a production or lp squeek* squeek* squeek*
May 21, 2009 at 12:35 pm #765678I really dislike brown, but I find the sculpt far more striking in this color than the plain white. I hope to see more test paints! 😀
May 21, 2009 at 2:53 pm #765679Ditto! Purpleturtle suggested a gray color. I like the idea of a Palomino color!
May 21, 2009 at 3:36 pm #765680The dark dun color’s awesome. With a metallic tone or two on the wings, something similar might look great on a pegasus or a griffin. squeek* squeek* squeek*
May 21, 2009 at 4:19 pm #765681Yes – I’ll squeek* again for grey here as well! I also would love to see a buckskin colored uni. Those are my two favorite equine colors 😀 . I hope for production or limited production in these – if they ever become a reality 😳 .

Thank you! There are so many interesting horse colors to choose from, it’s hard to know which to do first! Maybe I’ll test paint other duns , but try them a bit lighter.
May 21, 2009 at 5:46 pm #765683This color is pretty amazing. I would buy this Uni. I might bid on him but I expect he’ll go out of my price range.stupid tution 🙄 😥
Looking for Blue Fawn Baby Kirin
Sanguine Oriental Test Paints, kinglet
Sun Dragon Koi #3May 21, 2009 at 6:16 pm #765684I’m sure whatever color you pick to do the unicorns in i’ll love it 😀 It would be interesting to see different shades of dun though
May 21, 2009 at 10:03 pm #765685Beautiful! I love this color!
I read the description where it said you weren’t sure if all duns had the stripe… The answer is yes. In order to differentiate a dun from a buckskin, just look at their back. If it has a dorsal stripe it’s a dun!
You can have bay duns (bay+dun) and red duns (chestnut + dun). Dun tends to dilute the coat color a bit though.
Then you can have dunskin (bay+creme+dun) and dunalino (chestnut+creme+dun).
Then there’s perlino dun (bay+creme+creme+dun) and cremello dun (chestnut+creme+creme+dun) 😀 😀
On the perlinos and cremellos, you can still see the dorsal stripes.
LOL, so all would be great colors for your unicorns! I’d personally love to see a Perlino Dun unicorn:
http://www.perlinomorgan.com/Amos.html His dorsal would be the same color as his mane and tail. Gorgeous huh?? squeek*May 22, 2009 at 12:26 am #765686That a beautiful horse but he seems too close to white for me if were talking about doing the unicorns. Maybe if it had more shading or something. Maybe Melody could do a whole series of duns ranging from light to dark and then pick her favorite to do as lp or production? Just a suggestion 😀
May 22, 2009 at 4:45 am #765687The grand uni is pretty, and compared to the whites and blacks, he’s got quite a bit of color variation in him.
May 22, 2009 at 7:57 pm #765688He is gorgeous, I don’t have any of the Unicorns yet but I definitely would buy him. 😀
May 22, 2009 at 11:49 pm #765689Please make some new color production unicorns Melody! The dark dun on Ebay is very pretty.
