you knew the price you would have to pay when you did the deed so now it’s time to pay the piper. I’m sure Danny has had his pain too so he is just trying to get even now hehe

Oh please he didn’t have any pain. When he was still sedated in the icu one day after surgery I signed all the paperwork so he would have an epidural in place before he ever woke up. I kept asking him if he was in pain and he never once said he was. Even now he says he is amazed that he wasn’t in pain. I guess those drugs they gave him were pretty good. A couple times while I was visiting him in the hospital he did hallucinate. He was yelling at Hobo (our cat) to get from under his chair then told me to grab the other nintendo controller so I could play with him. The cat wasn’t in the hospital and he didn’t have a nintendo in his room but he sure thought he did. He said it was kind of fun to see things that were not there. He did promise me before he went under the knife that he would hold my hand while I’m in labor. He said he didn’t think he would survive surgery so thats why he made that promise and now he wishes he could take it back, lol.

I don’t blame him one bit. You will have super strength and most likely Break every bone in his hand, he will be screaming louder then you will from the pain you are causing to his hand

I promise I won’t break EVERY bone in his hand, just a few. Hey I want to share the joys of birth after all. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be in this situation after all so why not share the wealth?

Yeah but I don’t think waxing hurts. I need to think of something equally as painful 😈

Oh lord don’t get me started on the whole labor thing. Danny likes to pull up the clip where Bill Cosby is talking about his wife in labor and she pulls his bottom lip up over his head. He always plays that from me when I start talking about how painful its going to be.

Pain is a matter of degree…labor starts out slow and easy, with little pain, just the contractions which you can feel, but they don’t hurt. Just a little distracting though, cause you aren’t consciously doing it.

Then eventually as the contractions get stronger they start to get uncomfortable, but I still wouldn’t say they hurt. The discomfort ramps up slowly from there, until it gets really uncomfortable, almost pain, but not quite. It builds from there, but it is all bearable, and you can deal with it, just have to endure through a few long seconds during the contractions.

When you get close to transition, that is when it really gets tough, because the contractions are on top of each other with only maybe 10 secs between them, making it feel like it is all one long contraction. This is when pressure in your pelvis really begins to be felt, and once the baby’s head is up against your pelvic bones, that is when it really goes from severe discomfort/pain to actual strong pain. Hard surface against hard surface with soft feeling tissue in between them is never fun.

I would say transitition and the head crowning are the most painful bits, but once the head is out, the rest is cake and then all pain comes to a screeching halt, it’s really awesome, talk about a rush!

Then of course you get to see your beautiful baby, and it is all worth the pain, screaming and husband hand mangling. But what helped me the most through contractions was actually foot pressure.

My husband and our best friend both sat at my feet with a foot in both hands and pressed really hard on the bottoms during the contaction, it helped unbelieveably, and I am still not sure why, but I’ve heard of other women that have said the same thing.

It has to be someone with strong hands though, most women don’t have the hand strength to do it for long. It helps though, so it’s something to consider, you’d probably have to have another person willing to take over to let your pressure people rest now and then, the amount of pressure needed to help is alot and it’s hard on the person’s hands.

For my two helpers, I informed them that this was the price for getting me in this mess! LOL! Well one of them anyhow!

HEY it takes 2 to tango so I’m SURE you had something to do with the condition you are in right now. You can’t just blame him!!

Bones break and muscles streatch. Thes have been coming out of those for centuries. Everything will be fine

I can’t remember what movie that was from but I had to laugh when I heard it

Kyrin it’s all about pressure points in the body. I need to learn more about them or should say I want to

Cool, I didn’t know that Kyrin. I’ll have to try and remember that if I ever get preggers.

And Purple, my friend still has scars on his hands from where his ex dug in her nails during the delivery. Serves him right. 😆
