I just couldn’t post this in the General Arts Discussion… you’ll see why. If you like sports cars, don’t look: it’ll break your heart. Heck, anyone with any appreciation for the arts in general will cringe!

This is a link from a car forum, hence the sometimes coarse language. It’s a few pages long, but more pics can be found.

It finally showed up for me and that is BEYOND HIDEOUS!!!! 😮

Hehehe, as a car lover and Corvette owner, I really like to see cars as they come from the factory.

          SPRAY PAINT?!?!

I think I just died a little inside. My family restores cars. A Corvette… omg… :puke:

And the guy has Indiana plates! A fellow Hoosier did this… 😥

OMG! To a Corvette? Oh the humanity!

I’m not a huge car fan, but I do respect certain cars because of how my parents raised me. You should see the model cars my dad put together either before I was born or when I was a baby. One of them even won a trophy at some competition.

The way that car looks reminds me of the model cars my brother used to put together. They were nice, but he tended to rush things so they never looked as good as Dad’s.

My Dad has one of his “dream cars”, a 2003 Mustang Cobra SVT with less than 25,000 miles one it. He bought it brand new from the dealer in the time between my brother’s wedding (October 2002) and my own (June 2003). Only reason it has that many miles is because his other car (a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse) died on him and he had to drive the Cobra to work for several months before he bought his Ford Fusion.

This is the best theft deterrent there is. No one want to steal that. C’mon. 🙄

I think it’s amusing! Please don’t throw stuff at me!

Reminds me of a story: When my brother and his friend were kids they bought confiscated cosmetically damaged BMX bikes from a police auction (they couldn’t afford new ones) and got spray paint in silver and lime green and worked all day giving them a new cool paint job. The end results looked hideous. Pure yuck. Overspray on everything. Colors that make you want to :puke: But no one verbalized their feelings because my brother and his friend were so proud of themselves. Riding around all through town thinking they were cool. Heck, the confidence they had even rubbed off on me and I soon wanted to ride their bikes. So, I look at that car and I envision a story of some teenage owner (possibly his/her first car) trying his best to make it “cool” in this eyes. Makes me smile….but I’m corny that way.

Please don’t burst my fantasy bubble by telling me it’s own by a 40 year old or something. 😆

Um… I think I’ll burst that bubble of yours.

The dude’s putting in a procharger, which is (so I’m told) not a cheap thing to add to a car. Not very many kids can afford something like that. From reading all the comments, I don’t get the impression that it’s a clueless kid at all, otherwise the guy from the shop where the pics were taken would have mentioned that the owner was young.

Some of these comments are a hoot, too!

But, but, he could still be young. Maybe he saved up the money for the procharger from years working as a paperboy and then weekends as a bagger at the local food store. Thinking of how long he had to work to afford just a procharger, of course he didn’t have money left over for an… umm… decent….paint job. The hardships this kid must have faced- makes me teary eyed thinking about it.

                    😆

                    Oh well, bubble burst.

I think it loooks amature but not offensive

                      #810504

Sorry Dm, but I think I :puke: a little when I opened the first pic…The one on page 3 in the earlier stage was almost unique but not enough to gag you…
Amature is what Scott and I did to his truck with cans of Krylon…It is flat black with wide Purple racing stripes the whole length of it, even on the tailgate. I’ll snap a photo. In a few weeks we will be changing it to silver racing stripes. It is a 82 Chevy short bed with a 406 small block 4 barrel and it “Get up and goes”. It’s not the nicest hot rod wanna be, but it isn’t the worst. One day if I figure out how to use an airbrush, he might let me put something else on it. 😀 But, it won’t be a Bondo Dragon on the hood.
Though, it was a unique idea and he tried (The Corvette), I give that paint job a total :negative: !

XD XD I guess I should have read the whole thread first, I could have just concurred this. XD
