I’ve just bought a Wizards Retreat candle lamp. I thought something was missing but, I couldn’t figure out what. Someone who has one pointed out that the crystal ball is missing. Would I be able to buy one?

Yes. Send us an email with your address. We will be back in the office after the New Year.
January 1, 2007 at 1:42 am #521736Wonderful. I’ll do that.
January 13, 2007 at 1:32 pm #521737I now have the crystal ball, what kind of glue should I use? Should I use elmers? Or should I use a super glue?
January 13, 2007 at 3:03 pm #521738For smaller things such as that, both work about equally well. For structural breaks, I’ve found Elmers to actually work better. I heard somewhere that elmers is not archival. Since it is a small fix, I’d worry more about the archivalness of the glue as oppossed to the holding power of it, because I think most glues will do the trick in this case.

We use clear epoxy on the globes. You need to use something that isn’t yucky looking when it dries, because you can see right through the globe. Maybe superglue would work, if it dries nice and clear.

Would super glue eat away at the sculpture? I have heard of it doing nasty things like that

I’ll try the epoxy then. Thank you.
January 13, 2007 at 10:08 pm #521742I had to put a crystal ball back the hand of my silver queen of my pewter chess set and it has not had any problem since.

Be sure it is the CLEAR kind! The regular kind is yellowish when it cures.
January 14, 2007 at 6:29 am #521744I brought my queen and the crystal to Crystl Realm in Stoneridge mall. I LOVED that store and they used to carry Windstone until they closed up shop. The sales girl told me they used it all the time to put things back together

Thanks for the tip. I can only find one that dries transparent. I’m not sure if that means it will dry clear or not. I think I’ll try crazy glue. I know it will dry clear, hopefully it’ll do the trick.
So the crystal ball is it supposed to go on the plate? Or beside the plate?January 15, 2007 at 4:23 am #521746Romeodanny wrote:Melody wrote:Romeodanny wrote:Melody wrote:Romeodanny wrote:I now have the crystal ball, what kind of glue should I use? Should I use elmers? Or should I use a super glue?

So the crystal ball is it supposed to go on the plate? Or beside the plate?transparent does mean clear….with these though if any ick gets on the crystal ball you can usually scrape it off with a toothpick

Thank you. The “transparent” epoxy dries with a yellow tinge. But, I guess it’s clear enough. -
