You know how sometimes you get so sick that you or someone else says that “you look like death warmed over”? Well at the moment I feel like “death warmed over got stuck back in the ‘fridge and now is being used as left overs”… Any suggestions on how to kick this crud down a notch or two? ‘Cause a gotta be on plane leaving at some gosh awful hour of the morning on Thursday to go visit my sister in Cape Cod… *reeaaaaalllllllly sorry for the “poor me” I just doused everyone with…* 😳

October 20, 2009 at 6:44 pm #787830No advice, but I hope you feel way better soon!
October 20, 2009 at 7:14 pm #787831My aunt gave me this recipe once:
Put a hat at the foot of your bed.
Get in bed and drink rum until you see 3 hats.
When you do, your cold/flu/whatever should be gone.😀
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

Herbal Tea
Brothy Soups (ramen with fresh vegies thrown in at the last minute so they don’t get over cooked is nice)
Oatmeal/Cream of Wheat (not the instant crap…. :puke: )October 21, 2009 at 2:17 am #787834I know with everything you have to do, this is hard but I’ve always been told to get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. Hope you’re feeling better soon. Flying when you don’t feel good sucks! 🙁

Actually, I’d never heard the phrase before in my life. But, without meaning to sound spiteful, I think it’s rather amusing. 😆
I also like Medley’s recipe.October 21, 2009 at 2:57 pm #787838Sorry you’re not feeling well. **Sending hugs and chicken soup.**
October 21, 2009 at 6:09 pm #787839Hope you feel better soon and have a great trip to see your sister. How long has it been since you saw her?
October 21, 2009 at 10:34 pm #787840Airborne! Those things are supposed to be for before you get sick, but the boost of vitamin C definitely helps. They come in lots of flavors now but my favorite is the pink grapefruit :yum:

It’s been about three years since we were actually in the same place at the same time and it wasn’t long enough… You know – one of those sorts trips that you get sent out to as work and hope you have time to squeeze in seeing any family in the area…
Thanks for the tips guys – it really got hairy when my doc ran the test for swine flu – ’cause if it was that, the airline wouldn’t let me on the plane… Feeling a bit better so I’m off in the morning.
GB, I thought the description of “death warmed over” was universal  😳 😀 I don’t know – maybe it’s just another of my families colloquial-isms   And no offense was taken – it’s just me and my over active verbiage 😆 and i really did feel that crummy… 😀

October 22, 2009 at 5:13 pm #787842When I was a kid and had the flu, my aunt made me toast with grape jelly and a big glass of soda. For some reason I felt better after that, LOL!
