I can’t figure out how they did this! It almost looks computer generated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQMGkeV5qIE&feature=related

It has a support under the chest…maybe a computer controlled puppet? I don’t know, it is very cool though!

This group did this for Walking With Dinosaurs World Tour where they made life size animatronic dino’s. These are real acting puppets, the larger ones have a supporting central frame with wheels to move around but you hardly see it.

I was about to say what Koshii said
I swear I’ve watched that video about a hundred times, I LOVE animatronics. When that video appeared I just about peed myself I got so excited haha. It’s my dream to work on a project like that, to actually have the know-how to do that! Any animatronics related video or film that’s around I tell you I’ve watched it and studied it and tried to make something derived from it, but robotics is so hard. Either way, until I learn how to do it, it would be cool just to get my little dolls’ eyes moving.

It is amazing how they did these. It looks like so much fun to be apart of a project like this. Knowing all the work that went into each one and then to see them come alive and in action on a show would be so rewarding.

…I think this calls for a Windstone Editions “Field Trip” so we can all see this together!

That’s just amazing. What I wouldn’t give to work on something like that – to design the robotics, to program it, and then to make it into a realistic looking creature.
