Depends for me. If I commission a piece, I like it to be ooak. Like, if I say “I want this”, and the artist has never done anything like that before, I would want it to be a ooak. However, if I like the, already twice or so painted piece, I would buy it; ooak or not. Same with something painted the same just in different colors.

I love purple… I’d totally take a purple everglade gryphon.

Yea, I agree with that. If someone sent me “their idea” then it would be an OOAK. Stealing somone elses idea for profit isn’t cool. I guess you could always ask permission though.

      Got a busted Windstone?

I don’t mind purchasing a piece either way and I’m not inclined to choose something just because it is OOAK over 1 of 10 or open edition. I go for what speaks to me and what I like and would enjoy seeing every day for XX amount of money. I didn’t vote, since none of the choices really fits how I purchase.

        +1

Most likely, if I had an idea for an OOAK, I’d probably paint it myself versus commissioning it, but when it comes to matters of purchsing an already painted pieces by an artist (or commissioning one like an already painted piece), Siberakh1 summed up my opinion.

Interesting discussion, I’ve been rather curious about this myself 🙂

This goes for me as well.

I didn’t vote either. I am one of the “grabs my eye and holds it” shoppers too. I will admit, I am so in love with that Everglade Griffin, just like everyone else! 😳
The wolf is beautiful too! 😀
I guess, well, I buy some that I know will be more of, and others that are the only one. I got Bronze Pearl Griff #2 from Serenity, and Kujacker got #1. I put my name in for one of Koiishi’s Magpie Tiger Griffs (I think that is what they are called.) and I suppose if you decided to do more Griffs like the Everglade one, I might want one of those. And I noticed a similarity between the Griff Kujacker Painted for me, and the one he painted for his friend too, and I liked his friend’s just as much as I like mine! 😀
I admit to asking GB for a Prax themed Griffin since I really like blue almost less than GB likes pink, but just loved her Ki-Rin Prax. 🙂 And, I couldn’t ask for a Griffin better matched than Boreas.

Have I confused you yet? I think I have confused myself. XD
