Yeah, she probably didnt get your email and so didnt get an opportunity to make you happy before you left her a neutral. I hope you get it worked out, though since you have already left her a neutral, she doesnt have any reason to try to work with you anymore.

No, but it seems to have been implied.
She seems to be trying to make me see that it’s all my fault, if she didn’t get an email, then it was lost into cyberspace, and that isn’t really my fault…
Nor is it hers, for that matter. Well she gave me the number of the store that she bought it from, they are not on the dealer page for Florida, so I’m assuming it’s some sort of second hand store. In which case, it’s possible either they marked the statue, or it was marked when they got it.
I don’t like it when people think the wrong things about me, but at least she’s stopped trying to actively insult me. I want to get this worked out for me, not for whether I would buy from her again or not. Right now, I probably wouldn’t – she reacted rather badly to a neutral response!
May 25, 2008 at 9:27 pm #707278But even if she didn’t put the marker there, she still should have disclosed that there was a mark or whiteout or whatever in her description. 😕

I actually have. A wizard I sold was missing a crystal and I never even noticed. I offered a partial refund and all was fine. 😉
“get in the van’ HA! 😆
Geeze I put you on a pedestal and you jump off and break your leg. 😆
And yes, get in the van 😀
May 27, 2008 at 6:02 pm #707280Well I’m glad I got this one worked out. Turns out that the marker (which was the one that I cared about) was NOT from the seller, I contacted the store at which she bought it from, and they do mark their stuff. Because people switch stickers, go figure.
So I apologized. Is yet to be seen if she accepts the apology.
*sigh* Miscommunication SUCKS! And needs to die. Conflict sucks.

Ah yes. I recognise this tactic.
There you are, in your little shop selling mint-condition merchandise, and horrible customers keep buying something and then returning their previously owned and damaged copy, demanding a refund or exchange. Obviously the only way around this is to make what you sell NOT mint, so when people bring stuff back it doesn’t matter.
Or let’s see. I have a $200 statue with a price label gumming up the felt pad, and a $100 statue with its own price label gumming up the pad. But I’m too ignorant to know which is which, so to avoid the situation of someone swopping the tags and trying to buy the $200 one for $100, I, like, write the price on the statues in marker pen, somewhere my customers won’t immediately notice. That way no-one can rip my sorry ass off.
So did you give the store an earful? I think everyone else here would be lining up to give that store owner an earful.
“Had to mark the statues because people switch stickers.” Sheesh! Am I to assume this was a junk shop? I know I’ve bought stereos and speakers and stuff that have code letters written on the front in black marker. That sort of thing is normal in junk shops.
But it doesn’t really matter how the marks got there – if the seller didn’t mention them, for whatever reason, the seller is the one in the wrong.

Exactly my point. It doesn’t matter who put the mark there. The fact that she did not disclose in the auction that it was there means that the description is false. She lied and shouldn’t get away with it. 👿
May 28, 2008 at 2:35 am #707283I’m not going to fight about it.
And do you really think that I’m going to chew some sorry little store owner out for 20 mins on an international call????????? That would have cost more then it was worth.
And apparently she usually wipes off the marker, but due to the location and coloration of the statue, missed it. I’m willing to believe her. But I’m still not completely happy and probably won’t buy from her again. Apparently it comes off with a bit of alcohol, so when I go to get my prescription address transferred I will pick some up and hopefully it works. If it wrecks the statue.. well, then it wrecks the statue.
She was mad because she thought I gave her a neutral rating BEFORE I mailed her about the problem, which I remember sending an email but don’t remember if it said it went through. I can’t find the record of it, so I am assuming that it didn’t even send in the first place, and that I hit the wrong button, or something on my keyboard that I didn’t know was there. Ah, well, it’s settled and I really don’t care anymore.
I’m just hungry now… ate far to long ago and should have eaten at most 2 hours ago, and the person cooking messed up the food. Bleh. So in a very long time we get pizza.
May 28, 2008 at 2:39 am #707284Well, as long as you’re satisfied, that’s what counts!! 😉
May 28, 2008 at 2:41 am #707285I agree with Dave and Jasmine. If the seller didn’t disclose it in the auction, then she is the one in the wrong. You have nothing to apologize for.
There are just some people on Ebay who love to go out of their way to make people feel like crap. I had someone buy a pair of shoes from me and then not pay for them. I filed a claim and it reached its limit so I closed the claim, relisted the shoes, and went to give bad feedback but she’d been kicked off eBay for not paying for items she’d bought. Then she sends me a money order in the mail. I figured, what the heck, so I mailed her the shoes and cancelled the auction. Then she wanted me to tell Ebay that I had made a mistake so she could get her account back. I explained to her as nicely as I could that I don’t believe I made a mistake, and that the mistake was on her end. She should be happy she got the shoes instead of her money order back. She called me all sorts of names and harrassed me for weeks (I finally blocked her emails). I was afraid to check my email for a while. She’d succeeded in making me feel bad about her bad behavior.
Don’t let this person do that to you. If the item came so badly marked up, do you really want to buy from her again? What do you care if she blocks you?
May 28, 2008 at 3:59 pm #707286She asked me to remove her neutral rating!!!!
I NEVER got an apology for the way I was treated. And she expects me to remove the rating. Fat chance. She’s still convinced that I never sent the email that never made it to her.
*sits and waits for the whole thing to blow up again*
If she get growly she gets reported this time!!! NO excuses it’s a last resort only!
And I apologized for assuming she put the mark on there, not for not posting it on the bid. I DID tell her to do so in the future. She says she didn’t see it, which if she’s 64 like she says then she might not have. But still….
I hate dealing with those elderly people that just assume that since I’m younger then them that I should automatically respect them. Not saying they ALL do that, only some, but I hate those some… and I was taught to first give some respect, and let them earn the rest. If they blow it, then they lose that little bit of respect I was giving them. Regardless of age! 👿 She seems to think that she doesn’t need to apologize to me, which makes me think that this is the case. Not that I’ve disclosed my age or anything… *sigh*
Wow, now that it doesn’t hurt to type I’m making really long posts, sheesh…

Bring it with you on Friday. I have 99.953% pure isopropyl here that I use to clean electronics. It has no water and doesn’t stain. The best you can get at the drug store is usually 70% or if you’re lucky 99% (behind the counter) but they are still diluted.
