Not sure if I am allowed to post a live auction link, but here it is, and a mod can delete if need be.
If the link isn’t working, search ebay for Golden Sunset Rising Spectral Dragon.
This auction uses Windstone’s photos, and word for word their auction listing and format. But it is not an auction that windstone is running.
If nothing else, sellers should take their own pictures. I went into the auction thinking it was one by Windstone, only to realize just before I bid that it wasn’t!
July 29, 2013 at 8:24 pm #900840I saw that listing too and also thought it was a Windstone auction before I saw that is a different seller. Are they allowed to relist something using the same Windstone description and pictures?
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
July 29, 2013 at 8:44 pm #900841In the past I have allowed sellers to use our pictures when reselling an ebay item. The seller of this piece is the original buyer/owner. Not sure what our policy is regarding copying of the auction title and description. I’ll have to ask John. Keep in mind that the seller might also be a forum member here.
July 30, 2013 at 2:19 pm #900870It looks as if John has sent the seller a statement. You can read it in the “questions” area near the bottom of the listing.

My art: featherdust.comJuly 30, 2013 at 3:24 pm #900871A different photo is up also.
July 30, 2013 at 3:45 pm #900849In the past I have seen sellers post only 1 Windstone pic, to show what the item originally looked like at auction since different lighting can show off different colors of the piece.
I always thought this was ok (with Windstones’ permission) as long as they also added their own pics. The wording on this auction though, is misleading. I did a double take as well when I first saw this auction.
I am curious what the official policy will be for this.
July 30, 2013 at 11:34 pm #900891There are cases, such as auctions of retailer inventory when they are closing down their store, when it is a Windstone dealer with permission to use our photos for advertisement purposes. That usage is OK. But not for a collector reselling a piece on eBay where there could be confusion about the origin of the auction and the condition of the piece. Use on the Windstone forum to resell pieces is debatable but, as the viewers are pretty much an informed audience, I am not yet as concerned about it.
