I have 3 Good Cat Candle lamps and 2 are the same stone color but 1 is different. This Good Cat is darker in color, he has more of the brownish coloring on him and he has a very light whitish coloring on his face so I wanted to ask if this kitty was one that accidently got painted darker with more of the browinish coloring and white color face or if the newer stone finish is going to be this darker color now? 🙂 Here are pics

Did you get that darker/white faced one from the Windstone Store? Or from a secondary seller?

Yeah, that’s weird – the eyes look more round or something, too? A pretty candlelamp, tho!

I suspect it is just a case of having an all new painting team at the new Factory, and not intentionally done, but I’ll let Melody / Pam answer because I don’t know for sure! 🙂

Since we moved and have all new painters now, I decided to not to kill ourselves trying to match the old pieces exactly. So we changed many of the stone finish pieces by giving them more detailed, brighter faces with a little dark airbrushing on them. The older stone finish things were all a uniform brownish stone color.
The bodies shouldn’t be too much darker, but the basic stone color is variable. Our goal is to keep the body color about the same as the older pieces, but with all the weird gypsum we’ve been struggling with, that hasn’t been easy.

I like the interesting look of the newer one! It makes me want to get one, where as I thought the older ones were so plain looking.
