I’m afraid the only thing I can afford to collect is dust!
I do have a lot of dust. I’d be happy to trade it for other items of equal value…Honestly though, I collect feathers too, but mostly it’s just from my own birds since it’s illegal to have most wild bird feathers, darn!

My art: featherdust.comMay 16, 2011 at 3:49 am #845480I think the list would be shorter if I listed what I DON’T collect! Such a fun topic!
First, Everytime I go on vacation I get a pin from a Hard Rock Cafe. It started 10 years ago (or so) when a couple of my friends in high school and I took a road trip to Toronto to see The Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages. These are just a few that I bought a nice display case for:
I have literally HUNDREDS of horror movie/Zombie themed action figures and dolls (so many that MOST of them are in crates in our garage).
And somehow we accumulated a massive collection of DVDs (also covered in dolls and action figures). This room is basically a storage room for my “collections”
I also have several bookcases packed full of books! I love books!
In my kitchen I have a collection of vintage food advertisements of food when I was a kid! Like “Smurf Pasta” and “Ghostbusters Ecto-Cooler Hi-C juice”. That stuff makes me feel all warm and fuzzy <3I LOVE A CLUTTERED HOME!
May 16, 2011 at 2:44 pm #845498Wow you have quite a collection . Fun stuff too .
May 16, 2011 at 3:18 pm #845502Ball Jointed Dolls-had over thirty at one point, but am down to about 15.
OHHHHH my goodness! Back in 2007, I bought an em pea lap dragon from someone. She accidently sent my dragon to her friend and a package that was meant to go to her friend came to me. I was super confused, when I opened the box. Inside was …………*the*………most gorgeous doll Ive ever seen! (maybe this situation sounds familiar to someone here and they can chime in with some details ?)
Im *not* into dolls, but she was breath taking. I took some photos of her. (before I realized what had happened) I’ll dig them up when I get home-I even gave her a name. She had long blonde hair, and she could move at the wrist, elbow, shoulder, bend at the waist AND the hips. I dont know what company made her. I THINK the person who sent her said she was about $2,000 O.O She wasn’t Blythe or Pullip (or at least didn’t look like it and was too big)
May 16, 2011 at 5:57 pm #845506If it was an ABJD worth 2000 it almost certainly had to be a Volks.
I used to have about 15 ball jointed dolls, including a very rare Dollshe Bermann. The culture surrounding them eventually turned me off to it, so I sold them all.
May 16, 2011 at 7:53 pm #845513I’m *trying* to cut down on the number of collections I have going… 😛
Current Collections…
– Windstones (of course!)
– Books… There are books everywhere… I’ve run out of shelves!
– Purplecat Creatives
– My Little Ponies… Started with the Original ones when I was a kid and have added some G3. Haven’t made up my mind whethter I like the New G4… Which is probably a good thing
– Plushies…. Foxes, Owls and Dragons being my favorite but there are tons of other random ones around. Really have to go through them all since I have WAY to many
– Transformers… Mostly books and DVDs at the moment but there are a few figures from my childhood (that will always be treasured because I had to FIGHT for them. Girls weren’t supposed to like transformers 😐 ) and a few of the new ones. Even some plushies 8)
– Fabric and Sewing supplies…. Not sure if this qualifies as a collection or a hoard but the amount of fabric I seem to own amazes me… and I don’t even remember buying it all… :O (I think fabric breeds… 😛 )I’ve been called a Hoarder by my Mum (who IS one, low level, and denies it). I always counter that I know where everything is, my space is clean (relatively 😛 ) and you don’t have to climb over or move stuff to get around and do things. Also, getting rid of basic things (paper, clothing, stuff I don’t need) doesn’t cause me anxiety, thus by my reckoning I’m not a Hoarder ;). Now granted a lot of my larger Windstones (and some other stuff) are in boxes in the closet or under the desk but I know which pieces I have and where they are. They just aren’t displayed because I currently have no room. I did at one time (had to downsize for various reasons) and as soon as I have space again, they will be out of their boxes and on display.

I actually recently tried to start learning about BJD’s but when I attempted to join in on a forum conversation I was snubbed and told it was invite only.
Ooooookay.. done with that! lol

It was changed to invite only because there were so many people joining, and a lot of them were just trolls and spammers. The main doll forum, DOA, has something like 15,000+ members now. And the doll community is not what it used to be. But the snotty people aside, the dolls are gorgeous, and neat because they are fully customizable. And Hannah, if you are still interested, let me know. I’ve been a member since 2005.

May 17, 2011 at 1:48 am #845552Shitajiki (pencilboards). o_o; They’re sheets of plastic with anime/manga art on them. I don’t know why, but I love them. 😀 That is all I really consider a ‘collection’ besides my Windstones. I do have a lot of books and movies, but only because I like to re-read and re-watch them repeatedly. They aren’t something I worry about being in ‘mint’ condition, or any of that nonsense. e.e Just my shitajiki~ <3
May 17, 2011 at 2:09 am #845554Not all of these collections are active but I have collected:
Christmas ornaments
Annalees – especially the mice, deer and other Christmas animals
Pocket dragons
Books – I am trying to buy mostly ebooks both due to space issues and to save a few trees
Art – Wyland, Walfrido and Jim Warren (not originals since I haven’t won the lottery:)
Figment from Epcot stuff
Stuffed dragons

ooOOooh!! O.O I did not need to read this! I do not need to start collecting anything else. XD
May 17, 2011 at 2:45 pm #845581LIH, I am envious of your “Le Loup” book! I studied French for something like 8-10 years (although 2 years of that was review since I would need to attend a University to find a higher level course, and Im only taking classes at the local college. But, I figured some French was better than none at all!) I love the lanugage though! Ive got 4 books in French-my favorite volume of my favorite manga, “Clover” (#3), another manga called “Fairy Cube”, a “choose your own ending” illustrated ghost story called “L’ile de 1000 Phantomes” (The Isle of 1000 Ghosts), and Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) a book near and dear to my heart
May 17, 2011 at 3:01 pm #845582YEEEEEEESS! That’s it! I googled them and that’s pretty much what she looked like.
I forgot to look for pictures of the one I saw in person, but she was much prettier than any I saw on the google search. Her face was similar to this one though.May 17, 2011 at 4:11 pm #845585I tried to put in photos of stuff I already had photos of, I might edit in more later 😀
I collect…
My Little Pony… my first love, I have a whole ton of them, I think like 500+, mostly g1. Here’s some:
breyer horses! I only have a few. I have most of the racehorse ones, and most of the christmas ones, and a few others. I also collect the racehorse ornaments. Here’s a picture of the christmas ones, I will have to take one of the thoroughbreds.
Well, horse racing memorabilia in general actually, particularly anything zenyatta related. I have a whole ton of racing books and programs and random things like that.
Certain CDs… my favourite band is evanescence and I collect the singles and promos. I have started onto a few of my other favourite bands but am trying to restrain myself, I have enough stuff as it is! I also used to collect evanescence related magazine clippings, I have a huge binder full of them in fancy sheet protectors. Actually the reason I joined ebay in the first place was to buy back issues of magazines evanescene was in.
Here’s some! 🙂
artwork… particularly unicorns and horse sculptures or dolls. I have some half plush half clay dolls, and some fairies and other ooak clay dolls. I haven’t got into the bdj’s or other dolls yet though, which is probably a good thing. They’re so gorgeous though.
Here’s a photo of most of the collection. Sort of an odd assortment of things.
Windstones are actually quite a new collection for me! For a long time I refused to buy them because they’re expensive, but I’ve become totally hooked lately. For a while there I was happy with my little pony, which is great because most of those are fairly cheap. Now I’m back into art sculptures and have gotten into windstones, yikes.
Oh, and, Fred Stone plates. (Also a new collection) These fall into my general love for horse racing I think. I only have 4 stone plates and one by another artist. Luckily I haven’t become too obsessed with collecting these. I have them on a shelf living with some of my windstones.
I like this thread! It’s cool to see what others collect 😀
May 17, 2011 at 7:26 pm #845595I am so totally going to show this thread to my hubby when he complains about my Windstone collection. 😉 I collect books, Windstones, used to collect all the Buffy trading cards and swords/daggers. Hubby collects Marvin the Martian stuff. And everything collects dust. :p
