Wow, what a great collection and display! I don’t think I’d have room for that many dragons. πŸ™‚

          Wow!

For a moment, I thought you were a store with an amazing product display. Then I realized…that’s your private collection! Amazing! I love the cases and the beautiful way you’ve grouped everyone.

          Lovely! *stunned*

I’m SO HAPPY!*doing happy snoopydog dance* Your comments make my heart sing! I don’t know how to separate out your comments so I’ll address them all in one post.
I got my first Windstone about 20 years ago when I spotted a peacock male in a shop in Old Sacramento and told my best friend “I want THAT!” I was totally blown away when he gave it to me for Christmas that year because we didn’t give each other presents like that usually. It became very special when he was killed in an auto accident the following October. I got my first 3 Ki-rins the next year, then stopped for many years until I was once again in that shop in Old Sacramento and found a peacock emperor. From then, the addiction started in full force. At last count I have 109Windstones and I guess I haven’t stopped. πŸ˜€
I have them all in my office. I had quite a few in my inner office, but it was so crowded, there was no room for me or my clients, so I packed them up and put them into my storeroom. Then I thought, “What’s the point of having them if I can’t see them and nobody else can either?” So I looked in the paper and there was an antique store retiring and selling its display cases in the next town, so I bought 2, one little one and a bigger one, 6’long with mirrored doors and lights and glass sides and top and shelves. It has heavy metal supports 12″ apart and 3/8″ thick glass that holds 40lbs per foot.
That held me for awhile, but soon the cases were full and overflowing and there was no more room for another case, so I hired an out-of-work carpenter/finisher to build another case on top of the old one using some of the old glass and staining it myself, and adding mirrors to the little case and moving it to the opposite wall. Both cases are firmly attached to the walls with 4″inch woodscrews, but they are also bolted together so if I ever have to move them, they can be separated, and I had wheels put on the bottom one. I’m really pleased with the way it came out!
The sitting spectral was bought with a badly broken wing because when someone moved, a lot of their Windstones got broken, so they were selling a lot of them, and I was told this one was an empea. When I got it, I thought it didn’t look quite like the rest of my empeas, but it didn’t look quite like a peacock either, it has so much more green than they do. With the variations in paint jobs, I thought, maybe that’s the problem. My peacock OW is brighter than the rest of my other peacocks, but he is from a newer batch. So, I really don’t know! I’m going to take a picture of him separately when I get my camera fixed (I broke it yesterday!) and post it so maybe we can get it figured out. I think you’re right about the coil. Again, I was told I was buying an empea, and got an emerald. I didn’t notice until you mentioned it, but his forehead jewel is bright red, not lavender like the others. SO! It looks like I’m in the market for an empea coiled and sitting spectral I didn’t know I was! I learn so much from you all!!!
So Thank you, thank you thank you!! It feels so good to finally learn to post pictures. It took me so long to learn it, I hope I can do it again. First, I have to get my camera fixed! And then to get such a wonderful response! It was really worth all the struggle to learn how to do it!
P.S. I just got a ruby sun dragon! Next picture!

Windstone hasn’t made the coiled dragon or mother coiled dragon in emerald peacock yet. Several members are hoping they will, especially considering Windstone re-released the molds in Black Gold last year.

That sitting spectral is definately a peacock and not an Emerald Peacock. Biggest giveaway is the belly color. On the EmPeas its that paler green color, but on the Peacocks it tends to be blue and purple. The peacock coloration changed over the years and that’s why some pieces may not “match” as well.

Haha. I showed my husband the pics of this collection and he just looked at me and said “NO”. He knows I want a lot more of them. The expression on his face was priceless.
            But I love your collection.

Wait until some one digs up that thread about I think “Dragon-flage “(Dragon Camouflage) Or “How I got another Windstone in”

I honestly think my husband checks every room in this tiny little apartment of ours every other day for new windstones. I tried to hide my coiled ones by putting them in the computer room that I use but he found them…LOL..I remember getting out of the shower and him standing in the doorway holding one and asking “well?”

Yes, that’s the store! It’s an amazing place! I’ts absolutely crammed with stuff from fantasy, music, incense, teeshirts, jewelry, windchimes, wands, lamps, Windstones, blown glass, art, books, stained glass, things hanging off the ceiling, etc and it smells wonderful! The scent lingers on everything I buy. The aisles are one person wide, so everyone gets well acquainted! The personnel and the owner are great! I could spend days in there! The only downside is it really is crowded even when there aren’t very many people in there just because there is so much in such little space. But I love it! I live about 2 hours away so I don’t get there often and parking in Old Sac is always a problem. But I try to go when I can, I think maybe in the next couple of weeks, I hope. πŸ˜€
