I want to see pics of other people’s herptiles, if you have them. Herptile is blanket term for reptiles and amphibians, for those that aren’t familiar.
Here are some of mine.
Lizards:
Inigo
Stubby(big one) and Suki
Charmander
Terra
Sunkist
Rusty
Lord Voldemort
Griffin
Snakes:
Arbok
Tiamat
Nagini
Kaa
Toph
I have a few more, but no decent pictures yet.

September 5, 2010 at 1:28 pm #826228Lord Voldemort is a Tokay Gecko. They are very pretty lizards, but they are also very aggressive lizards. I’ve handled hundreds, though I’ve only encountered one or two that you could consider ‘nice’. Mine is a typical super aggressive male, and since his bite is enough to do plenty of damage, I wear gloves whenever I must handle him. Otherwise I don’t handle him at all. I set him up in a nice big, natural looking terrarium and just let him do his thing and clean up after him when neccessary. Tokays are much happier that way, and they turn turquoise and orange(very pretty) when they are content. Good display lizard for a hobbyist…. Not a good pet though if you want to play with it.
Look for ‘Tokay Gecko Bite’ on Youtube and you’ll see what I mean…
September 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm #826229I see what you mean by aggressive. I think it said that the one I saw didn’t let go for 45 minutes and others tried to bite just for the heck of it. Nice looking gecko though. Love the spotted look but won’t try to pick one up, for sure. Thanks for the great info and the direction to YouTube!
September 5, 2010 at 3:02 pm #826230AnonymousCharmander is BEAUTIFUL 🙂
They are ALL really impressive herp-t’s (Lord Voldemort!) haha he’s really pretty! I don’t have any, but enjoyed seeing yours! Great pictures!
🙂
September 5, 2010 at 7:24 pm #826231Tokays are evil! Well … okay not really of course but as you said, it’s rare to find one that wouldn’t’ happily bite the snot out of someone.
I will admit that sadly I am not super good at identifying some species, but I love your crested geckos!
Toph is so beautiful!!! She is a sand boa right?? I love all of the ‘little’ boas so much.

I’m a hobby breeder of ball pythons and boas. With boas it’s mainly the localities and dwarf insulars though I do have a few big ‘uns. I have almost a hundred animals, and it’s a full time job caring for them and the rodents I breed for them. I also have some cresties, and a redfoot tort. They bring me much joy in return for all of the back breaking work, though!
I’ll share a few pictures, just kinda the tip of the iceberg though.
Boo, ghost ball python
Christmas, piebald ball python
Mystery, mojave ball python
Ricky, Tarahumara boa
Lily, albino ball python
Parkay, butter ball python
Groucho, guyana locality boa
Citrus, enchi ball python
Limoncello, pastel ball python
Terry, redfoot tortoise
Sissy, ferrari line pastel boa
Solana, Sharp line sunglow boa
Pastel hatching here
calico ball python
caramel albino ball python
unproven granite imported from Africa
first crested gecko baby hatched here
creamsicle/red harly pair
pinstripe ball python
Matt Crabe red line Kahl albino
Sylph, cinnamon pewter ball python
I’ll take the screams for mercy as a hint to stop. XD I have much more, but I’ll stop here for now.
September 6, 2010 at 12:13 am #826233I just recently obtained this guy as a mate for Sunkist. He doesn’t have a name yet. A red super dalmatian crested.
September 6, 2010 at 12:19 am #826234🙂 I’m having a ball(pun intended) with the pictures of your snakes. It is so interesting to hear from people who actually own and love snakes than seeing them in zoos or elsewhere. Sort of the personal experience as it were. Thank you for bringing part of your family to show us!!!! :bye:
September 6, 2010 at 2:13 am #826235Beautiful pics! Loooove the cinnamom pewter ball *drools*
Charmander is gorgeous, love his colors. But I have to ask… what kind of gecko is Inigo?? Some kind of banded gecko?
Once I get my new laptop tomorrow (hopefully), I’ll get a few pics up. I don’t have many. Caring for the collection at work calms the want for more (to the hubby’s relief). He’s in trouble whenever I finally leave the nature center. XD
But I did take in a crestie last weekend. I gave the hubby the big sad puppy dog eyes and said the little guy desperately needed a home. 😳
September 6, 2010 at 2:55 am #826236aaaaaaah!!! That piebald boa is GORGEOUS! So are many of the others…but I’m particularly awed by the piebald.

He is cyrtodactylus pulchellus. sometimes called a forest bow-fingered gecko.

It all starts with a couple. Next thing you know, you’ve got a bit of an addiction. 😳 These guys are why I don’t have money for Windstones any more. There’s always a new snake I gotta have.
I love working in the snake room. It’s very therapeutic and cathartic. Once I get going cleaning tubs, it’s really like some sort of meditation. Good for the soul. When we move out of the city a bit in a couple years, I already have the go-ahead from hubby to build a building just for the snakes and all the stuff that goes with them. I’m super excited about that one. No more cramped quarters, creepy basement spiders, and hauling big bags of trash up the stairs.
Thanks for the compliments! If anyone is ever over this way, you’re welcome to come visit with my scalies. My featheredys too. 😀 I promise you won’t leave without some sort of exotic poo on ya.
September 6, 2010 at 11:12 pm #826239OH my goodness! I thought my boyfriend had a lot of creatures! Not even close lol He’d have that many if he could…and probably will one day if he ever gets a house of his own. He’s got a
Redtail boa
Blue tounged skink
3 leopard gekos
3 toads
10 or 12 fish including 2 goldfish, a dojo loach, an algae eater, an Oscar, a yellow ciclid, 3 tetras, and a lonely Sunfish I caught at the creek a week ago that just stays in the corner and barely eats (we are probably going to return her to the wild)
He has had in the last 2 years,
Rosy Boa
Albino Burmeese Python
Carpet Python
But the Boa escaped and the other two died 🙁 -
