Help! My male peacock dragon that I adopted from ebay has lots of dusty grime embedded in the inbetween spaces of his scales. He also has a black sticky substance on his back where his wings join his body. I dampened a q-tip with warm water and tried it first on the sticky gunk and noticed that the paint seemed to come off with the gunk. Now he has some little white spots showing. I stopped in a hurry 😯 ! The dust in the crevices wont budge either and his color is very dull. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I hesitate to use anything but water and even that might cause problems. Also, is it possible to touch up the missing paint?

      Thanks for your help!

You can get touch-up paint from Windstone. I can’t remember who you would contact. I believe it’s Melody. I’m sorry I can’t help with the sticky dirt. I’ve never let mine get that bad, and the ones from ebay normally are okay with q-tips and water. At least the peacock.

Can you blow the dust out with canned air? I’m not sure what to do about the sticky stuff…. πŸ˜•

you can try something like this:
          http://magicmicrocloth.com/

You just use a little water with them. I have some myself and they are wonderful. Just be gentle and not rub to hard and they should work fine on the sticky spots πŸ™‚
Use the tip of your finger with the cloth and a tad of water and rub very gently πŸ™‚

I finally got him clean  ! I used an old, soft bristle tooth brush, a little baby shampoo (nothing with any sort of conditioner in it) and a little warm water.

Put a teeny bit of shampoo on the wet tooth brush and gently, gently got into the crevices of the dragon. Wiped it off with a damp, micro fiber cloth. Once I’d gotten all the crevices I wiped him off several more times with the cloth concentrating on the crevices to remove any remaining shampoo. Then I buffed him up with a dry micro fiber cloth and now he’s beautiful! Just need a little touch up paint that Melody is kindly sending and he’ll be back to his lovely, regal self.

Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem. Just remember to use the smallest amount of baby shampoo possible.

p.s. He (the dragon) tends to follow me around the house like one of the cats. Okay, so I take him with me to which ever room I’m going to be in for awhile. He does have a very interested look of curiosity on his face, like he wants to be involved in whats going on in the household. He also is very good at guarding the family when dad is away on business! He is in desperate need of a name πŸ˜• Any suggestions? and yes, I freely admit that I’m a geek πŸ˜€

I would really love to post pics for you but I’m really illiterate when it comes to the computer and I’ve no idea how to post a picture 😳 😳 😳 Help?!? Please?!? (and they need to be simple instructions ’cause did I mention I’ve never done that before? 😯 )

                          thanks! twindragonsmum

p.s. my first naked pyo’s just arrived (drool!) now to work up enough courage to actually touch them ! πŸ˜†

So maybe Windstone fanciers will someday evolve kangaroo pockets for carrying their favorites? πŸ˜‰
