I’ve got all my gifts, and only one (still in transit after I ordered it) waiting to be wrapped. My tree has been up and my room decorated since the weekend after Thanksgiving, and I’m very much looking forward to Christmas (if for no other reason than it’ll be the first Monday in months where I don’t have to head off to work at 0630 hours). I’d say I’m in the mood. π
For everybody who isn’t, I hope you all get some Christmas cheer in this next week. πMonday?? Christmas is on a Tuesday or do you get the enire week off??
December 18, 2007 at 7:47 pm #647878That’s a wonderful thing to do, DM! π It’s amazing how doing something (seemingly) small can make a big difference to somebody.
Don’t you do a lot of charity work? That means you keep the Christmas Spirit alive all year long!
December 18, 2007 at 7:49 pm #647879We actually don’t celebrate it, but there is a noticable increase in rudeness this time of year. I do loove the eggnog though. In our family we have lots of little celebrations, our most recent was celebrating my son loosing his first tooth. We also had a “first steps party” when Vivacia started walking. We’ll have another when my son reads his first book by himself. π It just works better for us that way.
December 18, 2007 at 7:53 pm #647880That’s a cool idea, purplecat: -) It spreads out the fun (and the spending lol).
December 18, 2007 at 7:57 pm #647881Yeah…My kids were born in october, november, december…which would be a spending nightmare if we did celebrate the holidays. π― Sometimes we just have a “cookie party” where we bake a TON of cookies and invite a bunch of people over for pigging out on all the different kinds. π
December 18, 2007 at 8:32 pm #647882very nice idea

We have all gotten to busy to remember the simple things in lifeYes, Lodi is definitely Central California… and unfortunately I can’t say anything better about the central Californian attitude except central California doesn’t feel the need to steal northern California’s water resources the way southern California does. *steps off her natural resources soap-box*
Yeah, the simple things make me happy. I’d be happy if I could find a place to go hiking out here, but it’s no use. No matter where you look, there’s people. Rude people at that. Heck, I’d even be happy sitting in a garden for 15 minutes. But no such luck. I’m trying to think in terms of mental survival and endurance.

I’m in!!!I have a double oven and once we baked over 500 biiig coockies. We had fudgy cookies, chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, black and white cookies (fudge cookie with white chips)….we were baking for around 6 hours. It was a blast. π It was wintertime too, so the oven helped warm the house, which smelled good for days.
