Here’s one of my videos of a similar species, a ‘bamboo’ shrimp, eating.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9YkVoeyAhII was told that you needed to have bamboo in the tanj for them to survive. If they filter, was that comment true? I mean… it was someone at petco π
I love shrimp. I wish I could have a huge tank so I can get more than just ghost shrimp.
December 11, 2009 at 4:52 pm #795460And I keep repeating to myself–shrimp are not insects–cockroaches are insects. Shrimp live in the water–cockroaches do not. Man I want to kill that person who told me that. Was at a neighbor’s last week and they had shrimp for appetizers! I ate them but keep thinking—belong to the cockroach family–I’m eating something that belongs to the cockroach family! :puke: I ate them anyway–I still love shrimp. You know how someone tells you something and you can’t get it out of your mind?!!! π Man I’m plotting revenge big time! That was mean! π‘ Then maybe they wanted the shrimp all to themselves. :spank: All I gotta say about them is you know how pay back is!!! πΏ π π

What the heck??! LOL nooo. They were full of BS. Most employees at chain stores have no idea. If you ever find one that gives good info, let them know you appreciate it. It drove me nuts working for those places.
Need bamboo! Hahaha, gosh. That’s a good one!Volunteer mod- I'm here to help! Email me for the best response: nambroth at gmail.com

Cockroaches! Goodness no. Your friend was pulling your leg, or they had some bad info. Shrimp are arthropods in the sub-phylum of crustaceia (I think I spelled that right), which puts them as relatives to crabs, lobsters, crayfish, krill and barnacles. Shrimp are no more closely related to cockroaches than nearly any other exoskeleton critter.

My thoughts exactly!!!! πΏ πΏ And this person is one of those ‘food police’ that likes telling everyone how many calories is in what they eat–what’s not good for you–blah, blah, blah–the perservative–blah, blah, blah–the sugar–blah, blah, blah. I think she hates seeing people enjoy eating things–gotta stop that–no enjoyment is allowed in your life–ever! It’ll come to me–would like it to be based on fact–just come up with something in conversation–of course she’d probably get indigant and it would be worth it! XD
December 12, 2009 at 12:24 am #795466I could tell you something truthful about cheese but I don’t want to gross you out, too!!
(( If you really want to know and don’t mind learning about it, go here, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. ))

My art: featherdust.comDecember 12, 2009 at 1:00 am #795467Believe me, I am aware of some of the processing that goes into some of our food–with this person I want it unique to her. I don’t mind health addicts but they become a little too self righteous for their own good sometimes. Eat meat and you’re contributing to the cruel treatment of animals or contributing to the depletion of our ozone layer [all those cows fartin’ away in the pasture you know]–eat anything vegatable that isn’t organic, then you subject yourself to chemicals and the list goes on and on and on and on. I don’t mind healthy advice but stop cramming it down my throat for cryin’ out loud. When people get sick it’s their own fault because of what they eat. π Something will come up and it’ll be tailor made just for this person–I can be mean too when I put my twisted little mind to it! π πΏ

I think I’ve seen that info before Jennifer, and :puke:! LOL π
