I would have bid, but I am very confused on the whole over seas money thing…
November 18, 2011 at 12:29 am #862911If you look at the US version of ebay it gives you the converted amount in US so you know what you’re about to bid when you do so. Man, I put in the same bid as someone else (at least I think so) cause it jumped to 155GBP and I was JUST about to submit mine for that exact amount! i was scrambling to enter 160GBP but it ended too quickly for me to place the bid. *cries* Guess I’ll have to get on that waitlist.

November 18, 2011 at 12:33 am #862914Whats GBP? American dollars?
It’s Great Britain Pound, and a lot more in USD! 😉
November 18, 2011 at 12:36 am #862915Isn’t a pound equal to somewhere along the lines of 2 dollars American?
November 18, 2011 at 12:41 am #862919Just checked and it’s actually not too bad right now: 1 GBP = 1.6 USD
November 18, 2011 at 12:48 am #862921So did it do well? I have never seen anything like it…and artists imaginations are priceless to me so hard to put a price on it…
November 18, 2011 at 12:54 am #862923Well, it at least went for her commission price so I don’t think she lost out on money. In American it looks like it went for roughly $245
I just sent her a note on DA to maybe get on her waiting list

Dreamscape, Orion, Poison Dart, Fireberry, Spangler + Tigerberry DragonsNovember 18, 2011 at 3:07 am #862951GBP used to be about 2.4 USD so that is really good! Remember also that the exchange that ebay quotes is NOT the same as the exchange paypal charges! They take money off from every exchange don’t they?
I’m sure she’ll put more dolls up for sale in the next while 🙂 It’s cool to see how many windstone users bid!
November 18, 2011 at 5:39 am #862974I’m the one who won her. I’m pretty excited about it. I’ve been wanting one of Magweno’s dolls for awhile now.
November 18, 2011 at 10:27 am #862976Hey everyone! She went for £155 which is a great price, about $252. Sorry about the confusion with the whole international thing, it did seem to put a few people off. I’m not sure I’ll do an eBay auction again, it was such a scramble and a panic in the last hour but it was an interesting experiment! PayPal charges a nasty conversion fee so I’m pretty adverse to listing it in dollars. I think I just need to move to America considering that’s where I get most of my customers haha.
Congrats Skylover! I’m having a sort of exhibitiony art previewy party at my studio tomorrow so I will post her on Sunday, hope you don’t mind! Helaku and one commission are the only two finished dolls I have in my studio so it would be pretty lame to have an exhibition with only creepy half-finished skeletal dolls lying around hehe.
Thank you to those who placed a bid *hugs!* I was really unsure how these dolls would go down on the Windstone forum but there’s been an amazing response, so I will definitely be advertising more here when they get made.
Incidentally if I was to start an email newsletter about upcoming dolls/auctions would you sign up to it? Or is that going a bit far?
November 18, 2011 at 12:21 pm #862977I’d love to be on your e-mail newsletter! 🙂 Congrats on the sale!
November 18, 2011 at 2:09 pm #862984You should make a facebook page for your dolls… easier than a newsletter I think… 😀
November 19, 2011 at 9:08 pm #863135I would totally sign up!! I have a Facebook, but I never keep track of anything on it myself.

Windstoners love fine, unusual art, and yours is beautiful and quite original. I would sign up for a newsletter too.
