Like WC says, nothing to forgive. I know the feeling when you feel boxed in and yes, as women we’re expected to take it on the chin, grin and bear it. WTF! Don’t worry about it–we all have done our fair share in venting–you can’t hold it in for so long. It’s healthy–better than drilling holes in your supervisor’s heads althought I like this idea and end up in the looney bin for the rest of your life! You let it out and it’s like house cleaning–then you can think a bit about your next move.
i’m so sorry to hear this… things happen for a reason, i believe. everything is pointing you in the direction you need to go in your life. just have to listen to it and your heart. changes are difficult but i have a feeling you’ll make it through this and look back and say “yep, had to go through all that crap to make it here.” i dunno.. i’m no good at advice but lots and lots of virtual hugs from here! <3 <3
I hope things work out for the best for you soon. Anytime you need to sound off and relieve some stress we are always here to listen

I’d second that. It seems like they’re straight out setting you up to fail by taking your time away from sales to make signs, and then punishing you when you do fail to make as many sales as they’d like. That’s not right :negative: Either they should make your official job Head Sign Maker & Display Designer, or they should leave you alone to do what your actual job entails. Yeesh.
Haven’t got much advice, workwise, although, next time they try to dump some signage on you, could you ask ‘How much do these signs equal in sales?’ and tell them that you need credit towards your sales quota for every sign equivalent to the amount of sales you could make in the time it takes to do them?
With the pets, they are very good at picking up moods and acting out. Unfortunately, it sounds like there is plenty of tension for them to be picking up on. Could you get the critters out for some good exercise this weekend, or at least some play time? (With treats, bribery is your friend, sometimes.) That might make them AND you feel better. And if they’re too tired to wreck things, that would be one stressor down, at least.

When we bought the house I wasn’t at Home Deot for enough time and I made the percentage rate increase having me on it. It was discussed when we refinance I’ll be added, but we haven’t been able to get a refinance, just this modification which doesn’t allow you to add names. It’s a big mess.

This. Quite frankly, your signmaking is a form of sales. If they weren’t being made for sales, they wouldn’t bother with them. Quite frankly, you should get a portion of sales for each of the items/sales/departments you make signs for. For instance, you make a sign saying that there is a sale on washing machines. That sign is up for a week. You should get credit for 20% of the sales made on the washing machines for that week. You probably are helping others achieve sales goals and not getting proper credit.
My advice, get it as part of your job description and get credit for it, or stop doing them altogether. If you are required to meet the same sales goal as someone paid the same amount with the same job description but they don’t, you’ve got some ammo. Use it.
So….I was a ballbuster today….I was bitching to my dept head early yesterday morning that I haven’t even gotten to much as a thank you for all the signs I’ve done this past 2 weeks even though they have run me ragged and I actually managed to ALSO make my sales goal and get a 200% attach rate for appliance service plans. ( I know half of that was probaby Greek to most of you, but let’s just say I did really good) Just a few minutes later my manager (the one who is always making my life hell and says all the off color remarks about how I couldn’t handle design) cames up to me with a badge and a snide look on his face.(we get these badges for recognition once in a while for when customers say nice things about us to a manager or for going over and above, that kind of thing. For every 5 of them you get, you get $50 bucks in your check) He handed it to me and asked if I was happy now. I pressed my finger against the ink and it was still wet so I asking him if I only got this because my dept head told him i was mad, or because he thought I actually earned it. He was like, can’t you ever be happy with anything, and walked away.
So I took my camera to work today and strolled around the store photographing all the signs I made. He came up to me and asked what I was doing and I replied that I was going to make a portfolio of all the signs I make around here in hopes of someday getting a real job where I might be appreciated.
……………So…………….. too far? What do you think? 😆
