http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmOctober 10, 2008 at 3:58 pm #735797This summer, I signed up with my daughter for a pottery class. I hadn’t touched the stuff since grade school!
So after following instructions and doing a candle-holder fish (which unfortunately blew up in the kiln), I gained enough confidence to fiddle with masks.
I only posted the links because Warp10 didn’t resize them…
This one turned out pretty nice. It’s red clay with a speckled clear coating.
http://www.myfirehawk.ca/Sarah%20arts/Mask%20005.jpgThis one… I dunno. She said I could add some glaze to make it darker if I wanted.
http://www.myfirehawk.ca/Sarah%20arts/Mask%20004.jpgAnd this one was my pride and joy, however, I couldn’t get my head around the color scheme. I like the shape, but there’s def. something missing in the colors (or lack thereof).

I like the bowl. 😀

October 10, 2008 at 6:45 pm #735801I like the 3rd one. The simplicity of the coloring is a nice compliment to the complexity of the design. I think it would look weird with much more then that.
October 10, 2008 at 7:08 pm #735802I like the third mask, too and the bowl. Nice work!
October 10, 2008 at 7:42 pm #735803How fun! I haven’t worked clay in forever 😯 😀

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmOctober 11, 2008 at 4:49 pm #735807I love the third one! I think if you used a gold leaf pen and did just the edges of the top shapes and ruff of the bottom, and around the eyes, you would get the finished look you are after. I love the color scheme, so simple and elegant.
If you do the gold, I really wanna see pictures!
