This one isn’t so exciting since you’ve sort of seen it before. Castalia was commissioned by gryphondreamer, who asked for the deep blue eyes and an emphasis on cobalt. That last point actually ended up being a misunderstanding, but gryphon likes her anyway. I’m glad she does, because having more cobalt and less ultramarine makes Castalia less of a Prax-clone.
This design wasn’t any easier the second time around, but I had fun. I didn’t realize cobalt was such a watery blue until I painted the fur with it. It needs several coats in order to show up nicely. Castalia has an overall softer and lighter look than Prax, I think. I’m putting a Prax photo at the end so you can compare.
Really? Cool.
Say, those two middle pictures, from the front and the back, seem fuzzy to me, but I can’t tell for sure since my laptop screen puts red dots and fuzz on photos. Are they actually fuzzy?
Oh yeah! I’d do that. I just have to ask for your patience. I’m painting my swap piece, and then I’m doing a trade with DC – and somewhere in there I should do a piece for E-Bay. But if you want to do a trade, I’d love it!
