It just takes getting used to. There aren’t many other cars that flat. π
I’m too tall for that kind of thing…
although I have been in one… it was a pain to get in and out of… and you can’t even see out of the Esprit…

It would be nice to see some pics of his collection.
Well if he’s not, I am! π Firebirds are my favorite…and Lotuses second thanks to GB for introducing me to them. π I saw a red one yesterday….mmmm…..Here you go!
July 31, 2008 at 6:03 am #724406$7000 – that’s not half bad, and the car still has lots of miles left to drive…

I’m open to haggling. Seems like the market is slow right now. Does anyone have any other ideas where I should post it?
July 31, 2008 at 4:14 pm #724408hmm… not really… I think you have to pay for yahoo now… that’s where I used to post stuff…
but honestly if I had the money I’d be coming it pick it up.. I love it…
July 31, 2008 at 6:11 pm #724409Is that a repaint? The car I mean…
(the logo is covered in red too, and that’s usually from a repaint).
It would be a good deal, except having a car worth more then $5000 kills any chance of me ever getting a student loan.

To my knowledge it is a factory paint job. I have only seen one other like it. I purchased it in 1998/99 and the clear coat looks factory. The interesting thing with color is that is has the small reflective/glittery points in it, so it gives it real depth. It’s not a true red, but it’s not burgundy either. All the Firebirds I have seen have the logo covered in paint as well. I believe the older models are the ones that didn’t.
Here are some examples:

If you had one of Olympia’s Red Flame Secret Keepers I would take it in partial trade. Hehehehehe.

most firebird logos on that body style were molded into the plastic of the “bumper” and were the same color…
Trans Ams on the other hand… had different logos on some of the cars…
although you could get just about anything you wanted done to it if you ordered one…

My mistake! Still about $2000 more then I would be able to pay if I want student loans though. Also a bit far away methinks. π

Hee hee! π I wish I’d had a picture of the car carrier filled with John’s “vintage automobiles”. My VW Squareback got to ride up front on top of the cab and he looked like a kid in the front seat of a roller coaster! He thought it was fun (I could tell). John’s 8 cars all looked pretty good lined up on the carrier, better than they usually look π and we really should have photographed it. I don’t think The Little Lotus enjoyed the ride very much. It has those headlights that fold down flat but they are stuck open, giving him a very bright eyed look. When they were winching him into the last space on the bottom of the carrier he looked SCARED! He had a distrustful “what is happening to me?!” look. π Poor baby!
August 4, 2008 at 6:30 am #724416Perfect description, Susie. π Wish we could see pictures.
August 4, 2008 at 10:37 pm #724417Yeh, I wish we could have seen pictures. π

This makes me glad I’m not the only one that personifies cars like this. ;P
