They found a couple of windstones in a storage container (so says the auction). The one I got was listed as mint but he smells of cigarette smoke. Just fyi incase anyone sees the other 10 windstones they are supposed to have found and auction. He arrived in a single box unbroken and they did ship fast but I’m unhappy at the surprise smell.
March 29, 2008 at 12:44 am #494871March 29, 2008 at 1:12 am #684466I got a Windstone off ebay that, other than a strong smoke smell, was perfect. I did all kinds of weird experiments to see what would get rid of it (including closing him up with some baking soda). Nothing really worked, so I just left him alone, in the direct line of a fan I had going last summer. The smell was gone a few months later! I can’t even smell it if I stick my nose right up to him and sniff. =)
Hope yours wasn’t discolored or anything by it?
March 29, 2008 at 1:16 am #684467His color looks ok so I don’t think he was around too much smoke. The emerald old warrior I got from a different seller months ago is another story. He has some tar on him I haven’t been able to get off.

That’s too bad. =( Have you tried something called L.O.C. ? (liquid organic cleaner) It’s pretty gentle, and gets stuff off things pretty well. My friend spilled brown paint all over a white carpet once (and all over me, too, come to think of it), and unless you knew what we had done, you would never have noticed after the LOC had done its duty. You can only get it from someone selling Quixtar products, though. = Comes in the form of wipes, concentrated, and then various other incarnations for bathroom, kitchen, blah blah blah. I’d try the wipes, first. Testing it on a small spot, first, of course…we just poured straight concentrate on the brown paint stain. >.>;

Thank you Stephanie, that was it! I checked them out on e-bay; they have a lot for sale but no Windstone now.
March 29, 2008 at 1:50 am #684477They had some beautiful pieces up that I went for. A white scratcher, white male, old green male…But I got outbid on all of them (a good thing and a bad thing, heh!) so I can’t comment on how they smelled.
No problem! 🙂
March 29, 2008 at 2:21 am #684478Laurie, if you spray some Febreeze on the felt pad, that should kill a good portion of the smell on your newest dragon.
