I am so done with 2009 you have no idea, between dad and the pets I am ready for something good to happen!!

I went to let Gage in on Monday and noticed he was not walking properly, had to wait until Saturday before i could him into the vet, well $706.66 later I find out that he blew the cruciate ligaments out of both his knees, and he has Hip Dysplasia on top of that 🙄 . I rescued this dog but some moron at one point paid a bunch of money for him, why why why are people so fraking stupid? If people would stop buy dogs from BYB and pet shops there would not be so many dogs suffering like this poor guy.

Then I have Ruffian and Tonka who are just aging dogs and suffering from the expected maladies, as is the poor old cat 😈 .

Well thats all, sorry about the rant, gonna go loose my mind now, and have your pets spayed and neutered.

I too am looking forward to something good happening! I don’t know if it will be 2010 but I just hope good things happen to all of us. Yes, Ruffian, I have a 14 year old dog, he’s in good health, but I know his time is limited with me now. Stupid, people keep telling me to enjoy the time I have with him and not be so bummed about the day I’ll lose him but I can’t help it–reality was bitten me in the butt more than once I’m afraid. So here’s to all the aging dogs and their loving owners who care very much for them–may good things be just around the corner!

Im sorry about your dog. I bought Rab from a pet shop when I was 23, and I hadnt heard anything about puppy mills. Granted, I loved that dog so much, and his temperment was top notch, but he had hip displaysia and died of liver failure when he was only 8. Stay away from pet shop puppies, and yes, please spay and neuter. Kinda off topic, but I was at the vet the other day (getting records so I could arrange to have Bella spayed) and there was a guy there with a blue pit bull and a week old puppy he was trying to get a health certificate for. I told him his dog was pretty and I liked the ears like that (cropped). He told me he didnt like it and thought cropping ears was cruel. I wanted to say, “You’re breeding blue pit bulls and taking a week old puppy away from its mother and you think cropping ears is cruel?? I wanted to ask where he thought all those puppies would be a year or two from now. THATS cruelty. 🙁 Sorry for the rant… bully breeds are just everywhere here… mostly in shelters.

Any idea how Gage tore his ligaments? Ouch. Poor pooch.

But I’m not ready for 2010 yet, I have a lot of things to do before the wedding and I’m not ready yet!!!! 🙄 Though hubby keeps telling me to calm down… 😳

Yes lets end 2009 asap It has been a very bad year for people losing pets. I got Tristen from a breeder that breeds show dogs and he still had his health problem – chronic bronchitis – and it made him very sick at times but I have to remember the wonderful years we had together. He was 13 1/2 which is very old for his breed.

Agreed, 2009 has been rough. Lost my grandma who I was very close to, suffered some health setbacks, financial issues..yada yada yada….maybe an even number like 2010 will bring better luck! 🙂

AND NO MORE CASTING ISSUES FOR MELODY!!

                  Yep, that’s what I’m hoping for! 😀

Gage is only 2 so this really came out of left field!!

But i have no idea what so ever how he did it, he was outside with Tonka, and was fine when I let him out, then couldnt walk when I went to let them in, its snowy and icy so he could have slipped in the yard while standing on the fence for all I know. The real killer is that he tore both of them, so even if he gets surgery, for 6-14 weeks he doesnt have a back leg really, how do you deal with a giant dog that doesnt have a hind leg??
