A thousand points will be awarded to your house if you can tell me who painted this. I saw it in the hallway while I was visiting dad in the hospital. I stood there and lost myself in it for at least 20 minutes. It is an absolutely glorious piece, identical to the kinds of places I see in my dreams. I must have this print on my wall. Unfortunately there wasn’t a name anywhere on the print (if there was it was covered by the mat board), and no one could tell me the name of it. Apologies for the cruddy cell phone pic, it was the best one I could get!
November 25, 2010 at 3:00 am #832031A friend on FB just told me the name of it. 🙂 “Belvedere” by Hans-Werner Sahm. Think I’ll be buying more than one of his prints! 😮
November 25, 2010 at 3:17 am #832032That’s cool! I went and looked him up after seeing this. I <3 "Memories" (Erinnerung) and "Dew". e.e The cheapest I saw them was $53 each…where are you looking?

That’s what I’ve been seeing as well, around $53. I’m looking at Artprints.com at the moment. So far my top favorites are the first one, “Belvedere”, “Coming Home”, “Resort”, “Thunder”, “Fixed Point” and “Meeting Point”, though they are all absolutely phenomenal! Here’s the link:

November 25, 2010 at 3:40 am #832034Hmm, I think “Resort” is my new favorite. 😀 I’ve always had a thing for canyons and such. >.> *has a whole collection of pictures of that kind of thing* I’ll just have to bookmark this page, though…can’t go squandering on myself atm. c.c

Same here, I’ll have to wait for the moment but I’m so happy to find a place to buy his prints! Just incredible, epic work.
November 25, 2010 at 1:44 pm #832036I had seen prints at a gallery a long time ago and just loved it. Thanks for reminding me of him!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I’m glad someone knew the artist’s name. I just love ‘Enklave’ and ‘Resort’! 🙂
November 25, 2010 at 9:30 pm #832038Wow that’s just gorgeous. Must remember to take a look at other pieces by the artist.
November 26, 2010 at 2:46 am #832039Very peaceful! I think I need a copy in my home so that when me “three” boyohs are rampaging through the haus having nerf wars I’ll have a little spot of tranquility to retreat to 😀

can anyone help me find just a regular print of this piece? I really love this pic but have no real need of an “artists proof”…. (more frankly…cant afford an artists proof!) Or I’d even like more information on that piece, maybe finding out why it costs considerably more than any of his other prints…maybe it was a realllly limited run?
Also, I have a couple “trade for store credit” for a few of his prints, on my website….I’d really love a couple of his prints, and would be willing to trade a substantial amount for the ones i’m looking for. Here’s a link to that posting

And, I’d really like to thank you Machineguts for introducing me to his work! His landscape work is incredible! 😀
December 3, 2010 at 1:37 am #832042No problem purplecat, his work is stunning! I hope you get the prints you’re after! 🙂
December 3, 2010 at 12:51 pm #832043I looked at allposters, art.com, barewalls, ebay…the only one that I found was at allposters.com, but it wasn’t either of the ones you wanted. It was Refugium, and it was $44. Other than that, it seems $53 is as cheap as it gets.
Enclave is awesome, I didn’t look at that one closely! I wonder how the person who lives on that little island gets to it. 😀 Maybe they can fly?
