Bought a 1999 sitting up small dragon gargoyle that wasn’t shipped properly and has a broken wing tip with the piece of the tip and some damage to the same wing on the back where wing was scuffed. Otherwise intact. I’d love to have him repaired instead of sending him back for a refund and wondered if anyone here does repairs or can refer me to someone who does them as I lack the time and skills to do so on my own?!

April 23, 2015 at 7:06 pm #928451Do you have a photo of the damage? It might be easier to describe how to fix it.
For some reason I have received a few broken gargoyles/stonewash critters so I got used to patching them up..
I have used Apoxy Sculpt as recommended by the forum users, but I also had luck with air-drying Fimo clay for at least one gargoyle.
For texture, a bumpy washcloth is very helpful.
For colour, I used enamel paints. Black base coat, and some brown mixed with yellow till I got the right shade. Dry-brush the brown mix over the black base.
Colour-wise, sometimes it’ll be more brownish and sometimes it’ll be more greyish, just leave that up to your best judgement 🙂
April 23, 2015 at 7:06 pm #928452There are quite a few members who do repairs. Try looking at earlier posts in this thread. I can only think of drag0nfeathers off hand by name but that’s because she is repairing my young brown dragon (I’ve no idea how it got damaged – I suspect a careless housecleaner I used for awhile years ago. Damage was discovered when I went to dust him – damage area had been turned to the back of the shelf and there was no debris. My cats usually don’t break things but when they do, they NEVER clean up the mess afterwards! lol)
Good luck

April 23, 2015 at 9:15 pm #928458Since this thread posted twice you may have missed that 96037 offered to fix it. Her reply is in the OTHER “Can Anyone Help Me Repair My Garg” post.
April 23, 2015 at 10:06 pm #928464No, she got my pm, we are talking via pm as of last night. ^_^ Thanks very much though!
[[[ MOD EDIT – I deleted the duplicate thread as it only had one reply. This is that reply: ]]
I easily could do that for ya. You should definitely at least request a partial refund even if you get it fixed because bad packing is on the shipper. I’ve dealt with similar issues before on ebay with a dragon wall sconce. Send me a PM if someone else hasnt already. Smile Best of luck with the dealer.
