I always worry that I paid too much. Almost always. Especially when I buy a retired piece that I could have bought for less when it first came out. It’s the only thing that I don’t like about Windstones. From now on, if they put something out and I even think I might want it, I am going to try and buy it.
August 6, 2007 at 5:30 am #605860I’ve been feeling that way about my Franklin Mint dragosn lately. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep tham all or not
August 6, 2007 at 4:45 pm #605861So far so good. If I have regret any of them, then it passed quickly and I no longer remember it. I paid alot for the BG OW, but I console myself with the fact that he is a low number. Mimi, I would LOVE to have a number one of something. I think you got a great price!
August 6, 2007 at 5:18 pm #605862Well maybe if I spent over $1000 on a Windstone then I might have buyers remorse. But I think the most I have spent on one is around $400.

That’s what I tell myself too! 🙂

Thanks! That makes me feel better! 😀
August 6, 2007 at 7:04 pm #605864I am very serious. It is so hard to be the first buyer. You set the precidence for price and there is no way to know what it will be worth later. Just think, the first Black Grand unicorn only went for $400 dollars or so. That was only because I had no idea what they would go for later. The next ones all went for at least double that! I still kick myself 😆

😆 Is that the only limited edition where the first one actually went for less than the subsequent ones? Or have there been others like that?
At the time the black grand unicorn was on Ebay, I didn’t even know that Windstone was selling stuff on Ebay…I think I found out about the Windstone Ebay auctions around the beginning of 2006…

There are several cases of the last ones going higher than previous ones. There were lots of folks hoping for the last (Cheapest) ones. Then they were all bidding against eachother! 😆 I think the first ones always go for the most, esp when they are numbered.

I do remember some cases like that! Its really hard to tell which ones will be like that instead of being the lowest priced on the last ones.
August 6, 2007 at 8:42 pm #605868Thats true. I dont think I feel bad about how much I paid for most of the things I have. I am mostly just glad I have one. I know how it feels to want one and know they are all gone, or at least very hard to find.

That’s the same for me. If I see a OOAK or limited edition piece of art that I really like that I can afford, I usually just grab it. I’ve always been glad afterwards, because I generally can’t find something similar afterwards that I like as much.

That’s because you have such a knack for sniping at the perfect moment. You got one of the three cheapest BEP OWs, and I think your special gold and EmPea OWs were the cheapest yet too.
