Wow, more power to you. It would have taken everything I had not to reach into the car and beat the living daylights out of that guy. Not only do you not snatch things out of my hand, no matter who you are, you don’t snatch kittens or puppies from me.
I hope things turn out OK for kitten, and I sympathize with the poor little girls who wanted it.

to be honest….I was frightened for the kitten’s well being…a fight over a small animal would have likely resulted in the poor kitten being seriously hurt or killed. Plus…it’s not like you expect someone to snatch an animal out of your arms….But if he dares step in our yard after the kitten we’ve adopted…or any of them on my property…he’ll be unpleasantly surprised. A whack or two with a bokken would show him a thing or two. Beware….swordwielding guardkitty. 😈
I’d have taken the guys license plate, then reported the incident to the cops at the very least.
Provided I hadn’t already beat the living crap out of him…. 😈 I’ll be in the jail cell with the rest of you, ok?
Oy…the whole thing stinks, and I really question the guy’s motives, why would he do that?? Makes no sense…check in with the petstore on Monday afternoon.
I would also report the guy to the police, that kind of bizarre behavior is not good, he seems like a threat to the safety of more than just kittens.

What if the guy was a pshyco!?! I would have called the cops! I agree 100% with 2huberts! I would be in jail as well for kicking the S*** out of him!!! Kick him in the nuts, grab the kitty and RUN! People make me sick sometimes! I’m wish I could have been there! I hope you find the kittens safe and sound at the petstore, but from his behavior I’d find it to be unlikely. He’s probably torturing the poor thing.

I hope to God he’s just going to sell the poor thing for a quick buck rather than do something worse… 🙁 Luckily based on his behavior, that soulds like what he’s probably doing. I’m sure that in a short time he’ll have one less kitten and a couple more bills in his pocket 👿

what if he was a psycho? He lives in the apartments next door, next door to where my small children play in the yard, I was handling it as resonably and responsibly as I could…kicking the crap outa him could have put my kids in danger later…a risk I’m not willing to take. Upon calling the police, they wanted to know if I have any absolute proof that the cat isnt actually this mans, that had gotten out…and I suppose other than the fact I’ve been caring for them for weeks and the mother being starving…I dont, so no real help there. The guy already pauses and stares at our yard now…probably checking for the other kittens…which have disappeared since the incident…maybe the kids down the street spotted the last ones…either way, the kits are missing, sigh..and I miss them. 🙁
Ah…I wanted to add, we do still at least have Reese, the one we’d taken inside and adopted. She’s a small mischeivious terror. 🙂 I wish we could have taken them all in, but Chris is allergic to cats, and is having a hard time already with the one new cat. 😕
You could at least make a complaint that he’s stalking your yard. Since from what I can tell, that’s what he seems to be doing.
But the complaint rarely reaches the person being complained about, at least that’s what happened when I complained about a guy making threatening phone calls and following me around in his car. Didn’t find out about it until it was brought up in an unrelated court case. 🙄
So I’d just keep Reese inside so he can’t steal that one too.
