Very nice job so far on that griffin! Budgies are so cute. I had 2 of them when I was little… they were named Peewee and Terry.

December 2, 2007 at 4:16 am #640836Holy crap! When I saw the title “budgie gryph” I just had to click because I’d imagine those black bars would be such a pain! But that WIP shot is beautiful! I also love the soft, soft blending. 🙂
EDIT: Didn’t see there was a second page. XD
lamortefille> Yes, English budgies were specifically bred to be rather largeish, with those huge The Brain-like foreheads (I always compare English Budgie’s heads to The Brain from Pinky and the Brain) for show. “American” budgies are much, much, much more closer to wild budgies, especially the green ones since that’s their natural colour. 😀 Kinda like the budgiegryph!December 2, 2007 at 6:10 pm #640837Random: Budgerigar means “good eating” or “good food” in some Australian Aboriginal languages. XD

Can you imagine how many it would take to make a satisfying meal? 😕
December 2, 2007 at 10:03 pm #640839Probably quite a few 😆
It’s hard to make these detailed markings symmetrical… but oh, it’s going to be so worth it in the end!
I’ll take another progress pic tonight.
