Thankyou so much SPark. I have 2 watchers so far, but no bids. We’ll see how it goes.
Well, he’s coming home tomorrow with medicine, but no reasons except “he’s just old” They said he could survive between a few days to even a year. What the hell is that? I’m paying 2 grand to find out he’s just old? *sigh* I suppose anything is worth him finally coming home though. Thanks everyone. He will hopefully live for a good long time thanks to all of you having faith in him =) He’s coming home and at the very least I am grateful for that.

December 9, 2006 at 6:08 pm #514969I’m really sorry to hear about your cat. I hope he makes a full recovery!
December 9, 2006 at 8:06 pm #514970I just saw this post. I’m so sorry for what you and your kitty are going through. Please keep us advised. I have 4 myself they range from 7 down to 3. I wish the medical world could figure out more. I really hope he was not poisned. There was a residence cat here at work that some where taking care of but she has disappeared and they found rat poison in the dish they where feeding her from. I do not understand how some people can be so cruel to animals. They posted a reward to catch whoever did it but as far as I know they never caught the person
December 9, 2006 at 10:34 pm #514971Oh no 😥 Thats awful. I have two cats of my own, one I’ve had since I was three, but neither of them have ever had any medical issues. People who poison animals should be stoned to death. I hope he turns out to be okay! Have hope!
I really want a PYO of Blue, so I probably won’t end up bidding od Darcia, but good luck!

Personally, I prefer to feed them to the lions.

True…I should tell the lions ahead of time that they’re for entertainment only…and they can have their usual dinner later…

December 10, 2006 at 11:21 pm #514976dragOn, is it possible Bubbas got into some anti-freeze? And among all those tests they did was there a toxicology test run? We’re keeping Bubbas in our thoughts and prayers.
December 10, 2006 at 11:43 pm #514977Sorry for not responding on the forum sooner. I have been working all weekend to try and pay these bills. UGH! He has been home for a day now but is having a rough time.
He wasn’t poisoned. His blood, urine, EVERYTHING they could have possibly tested was tested. He has cerousis of the liver which is going to eventually cause liver failure, an inflamed pancreas, and alot of congestion. Pretty much his health issues have been clearing up with LOTS OF MEDICINE which he HATES HATES HATES to take! His teeth hurt so much that it is near impossible for him to eat or drink (or take the medicine) without putting him through alot of pain.
As soon as he is better and stable enough to get dental work he can get the teeth pulled, but putting him under anestesia is VERY RISKY. It’s a whole big mess. But when he is not hungry or thirsty he is a VERY HAPPY KITTY to finally be home.
He’s on 3 diferent liquid medications, a powder for his food, a pill kind, and pepcid ac once a day too. Most of them he’s only takeing for a week though and then he will only be on 2 for the rest of his life. My poor baby =(
I need to go cuddle him now! He needs to be SPOILED LIKE CRAZY for the little while we can still keep him comfortable.
THANKYOU EVERYONE!!! YOU ARE ALL ANGELS!!! My kitties Angels 😳

December 11, 2006 at 3:34 am #514979I’m really sorry to hear about your cat. I hope you have some time left with him. 😥 It’s so very hard to see them get old. Just remember all the good times you had together. I wish I could do something to help you out with your bills. But, right now that’s not possible. But, I’m praying for you and Bubbas.
(Just remember vets are human. They can’t just ask the animal whats wrong. Unfortunatly, all they can do to find out is run diagnostics. Honestly I wouldn’t have run most of the tests. I would have taken him home and nursed him myself. But, then I was training to be a vet. tech. And mostly I wouldn’t have been able to afford it.
December 11, 2006 at 7:20 am #514980Oh dear. It’s good to hear that Bubbas is home, though! I’m sure he is much happier now that he’s not at the vets anymore, even if he does have to take nasty medicine.
December 11, 2006 at 8:44 am #514981Yes, I’m glad he’s home too. I’ve heard of people in hospitals and nursing homes just getting sicker and sicker, so they give up and say “just go home” and the person gets better or recovers! So maybe now that he won’t be under so much stress, he’ll feel a lot better.
I heard on the news last year, they were warning about the anti-freeze. In Houston, we don’t have that problem of cars etc. freezing up, so we don’t keep any, but I’ve heard the animals like it because it tastes sweet to them o.O
