He’s just very old and got some kind of infection his body couldn’t fight off (we think anyway) we never really found out what was wrong for sure, but if we didn’t bring him to the emergency clinic he would have died. He was severely dehydrated and throwing up foam like he was poisoned. They did every test under the sun on this poor cat and could not figure out what the heck was wrong with him. 2 thousand dollars they were still stumped and I was EXTREAMLY AGITATED! Later he got some teeth pulled out that were infected and got his fever down with antibiotics and he seems fine now. He is in the begining stages of cerocious of the liver & kidney failure, but with any luck could still be happy and healthy for 1 or 2 more years before it begins to effect his health. It all depends on how his body fights it. There was a huge discussion about it in this thread.

We went through luekemia with a cat we adopted. There was nothing we could do. She suffered quite a bit because we were trying so hard, but I had to feel like we did everything we could.
We found out later that she infected my other cat that had been with me for four years. We tried to keep him healthy, but when he started getting sick, I couldn’t watch him go through what she did.Now we have two that seem to think midnight is the best time to run holy heck though the house.
January 10, 2007 at 7:30 am #526342Very cute! I love the paw print idea!
January 10, 2007 at 10:44 am #526343Lovely dragon, drag0n, and the idea of putting Bubba’s paw print on the pad is great. Beautiful.
January 10, 2007 at 4:23 pm #526344Very nice! I like the paw print idea as well. Can’t wait to see the finished dragon!

Oh, I’m so sorry. Luekemis is very hard and it is one of the most painful diseases and animal can go through. We had a cat that died from that as well and it was horrible. It is VERY contagious too, it’s too bad your other cat caught it. You really need to keep their luekemia shots up to date. Other diseases can’t creep up as easily or suddenly as luekemia can and there’s no cure or really any treatment anyone can afford. You made the right decision though. The cat we had was my sister’s and she wouldn’t put him to sleep. He died on his own and it was one of the most terrible things I had ever witnessed. He should have been put down, but for some reason she just didn’t do it. It works very quickly. I’m so sorry for you loss.

-J R R TolkienJanuary 12, 2007 at 4:53 pm #526349He he he. I just caught this picture of my two kitties. It reminded me of a Ying Yang symbol. Phoenix, the calico has no tail and allows the kids to carry her like a ragdoll.
Dragon, the tabby, has seven toes on each of his front feet and five on each of the back. She looks like she has four paws on her front feet. She climbs really really well!
Now back to your dragon… Any updated pictures??January 12, 2007 at 5:04 pm #526350Hey, I have a calico cat named Dragon! Great minds think alike! 😀

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the picture! They look sooooooo cute!
January 13, 2007 at 10:53 pm #526352OH SO CUTE Phoenix! I had a caloico with a half tail. The mom was a manx and the father was not so she came out with a long stump, LOL! Sounds like your cat Dragon and my cat Shady could go climbing together. He has no tail, but looks a but like a siamese with white feet. HUGE FEET! Basically what you described! He has big lion paws, as I call them =)
Bubba’s is doing pretty good. Here’s one I caught of him sleeping too!
Also, the dragon is done. It didn’t come out as nice as I wanted it to, but it will be up for auction probably by Monday. I want to make a cool COA with it this weekend. I did get a pawprint on the felt pad, but it looks more like I dumped it in paint accidently. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h196/drag0nfeathers/Mandys%20Dragons/Picture087.jpg I think I’m going to put the paw print on the COA. Hopefully it comes out better. I put a little blue jewel in the tail too.
Here are the finished photos…
