Ditto to what everyone else has said. I totally LOVE this guy! (although I prefered the non brown versions of the autumn leaf color, he’s still gorgeous!) I think his wings look like a monarch butterfly in a way. I love the green on him too. Reminds me of leaves in Houston. Nothing really ever dies here in autumn/winter, but a few of the trees (90% are pines) have color-change leaves, and lots of them end up on the ground with healthy hints of green-just like this old warrior ^_^
If you ever do paint anything in Autumn Leaf, it might be a good idea to get a head count of who wants one and paint that many-that way we can squeek* less for them lol and even if not everyone has funds when they come out, I still have a feeling they’ll go like hot cakes. I know there are lots of people here (myself included) that NEVER can catch ANYTHING in the store the first time around. It would be awesome to actually nab some of the LP items without waiting years for them to be restocked.
October 14, 2010 at 1:10 am #828793AnonymousI agree with Wolfenmachine!
Seems like a name count of the forum folks that WANT one, and if it WERE produced, the list of names could be contacted, and get dibs on them. Yeah, that would be so fair. Because not everyone has family members who joined the forum, and not everyone is online all the time, and soooo many folks are really deserving of a LP that never end up getting one. Well, what a great Christmas thought that would be.
So, add my name to the list to get one of these Brown Autumn Leaf curlies. Is that what we’re talking about? LOL

Here, here! I’d want to be on the list to for any AL dragons, if there is going to be a list that is 😳October 16, 2010 at 5:27 am #828795This is an interesting idea. I’d like to be one the list, but what if the item comes out and and you don’t like it, would you have to be committed to buying it? I suppose you wouldn’t cause someone not on the list might want it 😀 sorry i’m an over thinker. If anything comes of this idea i’d be interested, it would just depend on if i have the funds at the time 😀

I’m going to play for the “other side” here. What’s it called, devil’s advocate? You say it would be “fair” to just “reserve” something for only the people who express interest. I don’t really think that’s fair at all. Honestly. I’m just as disappointed as the next person when I don’t get an lp I want, but I don’t think it’s unfair that “you got one and I didn’t”.
Clearly, many many more people who either don’t have an account here, or simply doesn’t speak, also love these sculptures as much as you and me. It wouldn’t be “fair” to them to have only a said number of pieces made without them even having a chance to get them because they are all “reserved”.If you want a piece and feel you can’t get it, I see many forum members buy for someone else all the time. Perhaps you can arrange something like that with someone if you feel you will miss out on something.
October 16, 2010 at 6:30 am #828797Sounds to me like the original idea wasn’t to have all the pieces reserved ahead of time, it was just to see how many people are interested and try to make enough for them, so there wouldn’t be as few for people to fight over. Once they are in the store though, it’s anyone’s game.
No one “deserves” an LP more than anyone else.

Actually, the post reads “and if it WERE produced, the list of names could be contacted, and get dibs on them.”
So yeah, that’s like a reserve. Dibs.I was going to say what you said about the LP, but I figured I’d be getting a lot of crap for my reply as is 😉
October 16, 2010 at 8:57 am #828799I was actually referring to this post:

Which is what the other post was a response to.
October 16, 2010 at 9:56 pm #828800a Head count of who wants them would also be a good idea before listing them in the store and then make x amount above that number to satisfy the non forum member following. Either way i’m fine. Sometimes i’m glad when i see something i like has sold out before i could get it… at least my bank account likes it 😆 but for a major item like what we’re talking about i can see why people would want to do it with a head count so a lot of people don’t miss out and then not have the chance to get another one until months later or at all
October 17, 2010 at 8:48 pm #828801No, I wasn’t trying to say ONLY those who reserved an LP item would get one…but lately there have been like what, 8 items in a batch? And maybe 30 people that want one? It was 3 years before the Birman flapcats were restocked, and some things are restocked in a month. So in the mean time, we have no idea when or if we’re ever going to get anymore of a particular LP item, so you’re left wondering if its worth it to pay $100 more than store price to get one someone is selling second hand or to just wait for more in the store.
Basically, if there are larger batches more people-on the forum or not- can get one. Thats what I was trying to get at.
October 17, 2010 at 8:55 pm #828802I missed it, what did it look like?
October 17, 2010 at 9:48 pm #828803Like a dead leaf.
